• It is endangered because men have killed them for their meat, skin, and claws.

• The protective measures that are being are that the government is making laws to prohibit hunting and killing the American Alligator, but if you do hunt the American Alligator you will go to jail for a long, long, long time unless someone pays your fine.

• The American Alligator is found in Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, Louisiana, Oklahoma

• The American Alligator can be 14 feet long to 16 feet long, and can weigh as much 120 pounds to 140 pounds! WOW!!!

• The last amazing thing is that the American Alligator can live to be 40 to 60 years in the wild and 60 to 80 years in captivity!!
