Introduction 

Have you ever been to Canada? Canada is a cool place with beaches and a lot of nice people. The best thing is that there are a lot of cool things to see. You are going to learn what Canadians do for sports, what they eat and drink, what language they speak and last you’ll learn about holidays, safety and things to see.  Slide through this book like an airplane would fly through the sky.   

Hot And Spicy 

Guess what?  There are lots of different people from around the world who come to Canada to live, so there’s no national food that everyone eats.  There’s a lot of great food.  Canadians eat pancakes with maple syrup, turkey, meet, pasta, and soup.  Most Canadian foods are not hot or cold. The food is at a medium temperature. Come and eat through this book like a great white shark eats through a school of fish. 

Great Sports, Awesome Sports! 

Come to Canada to play the best sports ever. Canadians play hockey, soccer, football, baseball, and they also ski. Hockey players play on an ice rink. The Toronto Maple Leaves are not a very good team.  They are in second to last place.  Fans still come to watch them.  A lot of people play soccer in the summer.  It’s a very popular sport for kids and adults.  It’s good exercise with all of the running around.  Football is also good exercise and it’s fun to tackle people.  Canadians like to watch American football.  Baseball is also a very fun thing to do because it is very good exercise because you run fast and hit fast.  Skiing is also popular because it can 

only be done in the winter.  I hope you learned that there are great sports in Canada! 

Drinks For Everyone 

Come to Canada to get awesome drinks like water. Most Canadians kids drink apple juice and SunnyD because you can buy it and it tastes good. Water is a normal drink for adults and kids. Adults drink Coke, Perrier, wine, and Pepsi. Now you know the drinks people drink in Canada. Float through this book like a life jacket would float through the water. 

The Greatest Celebrations in the World  

Do you love to celebrate? Canada has many holidays to celebrate. Canadians like to celebrate Halloween, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, and Valentine’s Day. Christmas is important for Canadians because it’s the day Jesus was born.  Most Canadians are Christian so Christmas in important.  At Thanksgiving we are thankful for everything we have.  We invite our families and friends and eat a big dinner.  We have turkey, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie.  Easter is important to Christians because Jesus rose from the cross.  We hide eggs and eat chocolate inside the eggs.  Valentine’s Day is the day of love.  We give chocolate to others to be nice.  On Halloween we dress up in costumes and go to people’s houses and get candy. Keep reading on to find out more interesting things about the incredible country of Canada.     

It’s Raining! It’s Snowing! Now It’s Sunny! 

Have you ever been to Canada? Well, there are three types of weather, rain, snow, and sun. Canada is really cold in the winter. The temperature 

can go as low as 1 degree Celsius. People have to dress up in snow pants and really warm jackets so they can stay warm outside. It’s always windy and snowy in the winter. In February and March it rains like crazy. People don’t go outside. There might be a few people on the road. The rain can be freezing. All the rest of the months are sunny and hot. You need to get in the pool if you’re outside or you’ll be really hot. Do not go to Canada in the winter because it’s freezing cold and I mean it! 

Fast and Safe 

Whoa! Watch out! You will not hear that sound in Canada. Canadians are safe drivers. In Canada no one will run across the street. Instead people walk safely in crosswalks. When drivers come to a crosswalk, they stop and let people pass. Drivers stop at stoplights and look all ways before going. When drivers switch lanes they put their blinkers on and look first. In Canada people look at the speed limit sign and they don’t speed. If you speed you get a speeding ticket by a policeman. Safety is really important to Canadians.  

Where Do You Live? 

There are many provinces in Canada. Do you know one or not? Well, if you don’t know names of provinces, read on. First, Canada is on the continent of North America and there are ten provinces. They are Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, and Saskatchewan.  Alberta is close to Saskatchewan and Saskatchewan is close to Manitoba.  British Columbia is next to the Pacific Ocean.  Quebec is the only province where people speak French. I live in Ontario. Now you know all of the provinces in Canada. There are a lot so try to visit at least one of them.
