Anointing of the Sick

Through this sacrament the believer is strengthened by Christ’s grace through

the anointing of Holy Oils. All who are seriously ill, hospitalized, or hav-

ing surgery can receive this sacrament. Please contact the parish office if you

wish to receive this sacrament.

Baptism

The sacrament of Baptism is celebrat-ed by appointment. All parents must

attend a baptismal preparation meeting prior to the Baptism. Please call the

office to schedule dates.

Matrimony

A meeting with the parish priest should precede all other wedding

plans. Couples contemplating matri-mony should contact the parish office six months to a year before the cele-

bration of the sacrament.

The Sanctuary Lamps in all three Churches burn this week for Father Joe Kutch, who celebrated his 58th birthday last Friday, February 7th.

Sanctuary lamp intentions may be requested by calling the parish office.

A Communal Rosary is prayed at 9:30 am Friday mornings in St. Michael’s Church.

All are invited to participate.

Confirmation Choir The Sacrament of Confirmation will be celebrated

by Bishop Joseph Bambera on Monday, April 20, 2020, at 6:30 PM in SS. Peter and Paul Church, Towanda. This celebration will include students from Epiphany, Saints Peter and Paul, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Saint Michael, and Saint Basil Parishes.

We would like to have an adult choir for this Mass. Practices will be held at SS. Peter and Paul, on Sunday, April 5, at 1 PM, Sunday, April 19 at 1 PM, and Mon-day, April 20 at 5 PM.

RCIA (The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) We are in the catechumenate phase,

the period of formal preparation for en-trance into full membership in the Catho-lic Church. The next meeting of the RCIA will be on Monday, February 10th at 7 pm in the Rectory.

We congratulate Lisa Darrow Eagleberger, Marty Rockwell, and Rachael Stafford for entering the catechu-menate phase with the celebration of the Rite of Ac-ceptance last Sunday. Please keep them in your prayers as they continue on their faith journey into full commun-ion with the Catholic Church.

Wedding Anniversary Mass On June 14, Bishop Joseph C.

Bambera will celebrate the Wedding Anniversary Mass at 2:30 p.m. in the Cathedral of Saint Peter, Scranton, for couples celebrating their 25th or 50th year of marriage in 2020. This is an occasion to recognize the role married couples play in the Church’s mission to bring God’s faithful love into the world. Couples will have the opportunity to renew their com-mitment to marriage and to receive a blessing on their marriage from the Bishop. A reception will follow in the Diocesan Pastoral Center, where anniversary couples will be able to have their picture taken with the Bishop. Eligible couples should give their names and an April mailing address to their parish office before March 16.

Ash Wednesday Retreat The Office for Parish Life will offer a Retreat on

Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at the Diocesan Pastoral Center, 330 Wyoming Avenue, Scranton. The day will begin at 9:30 a.m. and end at 2:30 p.m. The faithful of the Diocese are invited to share in this day of prayer.

Catherine Butel, Diocesan Secretary for Parish Life, will lead the retreat with the theme “Radiate Christ.”

The day will include the 12:10 p.m. Mass celebrated in St. Peter’s Cathedral. The Sacrament of Reconcilia-tion will be available prior to Mass, and lunch will be served after Mass. Lent Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 26th. Stations of the Cross will be held on Tuesdays in

Saint John Nepomucene Church and on Wednesdays in Saint Michael’s Church following the 5:30 pm Mass.

Rice Bowls will be available to be picked up on Sun-day, February 23rd in all three churches.

The Light is ON for You (Confessions) will be on Mondays, 5:30-7:00 pm, in Saint Michael’s during Lent.
