2Expert training for beauty therapists and medics
It’s a really exciting time right now for qualified practitioners as they look forward to boosting profits by meeting the growing demand for injectable treatments, such as dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections
The most common concern is people say “I can’t train as a non-medic (Beauty Therapist)” - aUK Cosmetics can reassure you this is incorrect. You may have read that it is illegal for non-medic Beauty Therapists to train as Aesthetic Practitioners, this is also incorrect. aUK Cosmetics is accredited and insured to train both medics and non-medics. Both are treated as equals and able to inject legally and most importantly, safely. Working with Industry Qualifications (IQ) we are on a path towards being the only UK training centre to offer level 5&7 accreditation.

WHAT OUR TRAINEE PRACTITIONERS SAY
AESTHETIC PRACTITIONER
I would highly recommend the course of Aesthetic Practitioner training to anyone who is serious about training in cosmetics.
I would highly recommend the aUK course of Aesthetic
Training to anyone who is serious about training in
cosmetics, and no one is more serious than Chris. Plus he
is very patient and has a fantastic and attentive support
team working with the aUK Cosmetic Training students,
all of the time. It’s totally unique and nothing I have ever
experienced before. Jennifer
Chris has a unique teaching style and, as there
are usually a mix of medics and non-medics being
taught, he explains everything really clearly and as a
non-medic myself I really understand it. He talks to
medics differently however, he is on their level too, he
communicates brilliantly with his students - from any
background.

WHAT OUR TRAINEE PRACTITIONERS SAY
AESTHETIC PRACTITIONER
We are qualified and re doing the training because of the new legislation. Because we have had excellent training, we want to
be recognised legally, be confident to say we are properly trained, and on-going personal development, if something new comes
out or changes I feel aUK will be on it. Vanessa
Since starting my aesthetic practitioner course it’s been the best place for me to learn because the theory has been second to
none, Sally Todd (lead trainer and co-founder of aUK Cosmetics) is fantastic at theory, and has blown my mind in terms of
knowledge taught. Naomi
I have done so many different faces because of the high volume of models, I have learned about several different face types. I now feel so confident and grateful to Chris for his training. I wish I had
come to aUK from the beginning. Chris uses several techniques in his training because one technique does not suit everyone. I’m
booking on for more training! I want to complete my level 7. We have to be at the top of our game, and that’s why I use aUK.

WHAT OUR TRAINEE PRACTITIONERS SAY
AESTHETIC PRACTITIONER
Chris is genuine and cares about his students, he is not a money making schemer, he always keeps in contact with me about the course materials and my development through his mentoring. He is really good at teaching, he does not judge you and he has a great sense of humour which really helps me. Sarah
I would highly recommend aUK Training. Chris and the team have been fantastic. The training has been thorough, intense and very rewarding. Nothing is too much trouble and the ongoing support has been outstanding. Maria
Chris and aUK are a shining example of how a training academy should work. His centre of excellence has not let me down and truly surpassed my expectations given my chequered history of poor training experiences. I am proud and pleased to have met Chris as his teaching and unique methods of explaining everything to me in terms I really can understand has been absolutely amazing. His guidance through the several treatments I gave to the abundance of models really built up my skills and confidence to become a class act in the world of Aesthetics. Beverly

I worked tirelessly with the awarding bodies and the Government. I was very involved in the expert reference group with the Bruce Keogh report that shaped this industry’s standards and procedures.
The facts are you can train and you can deliver injectables.

I discovered many years ago that I could train in injectables as a non-medic, I knew that’s where I was heading. In short, I paid handsomely for disappointing
and sub standard training lasting a couple of hours with just a handful of models. I left with certificates
allowing me to be insured, however with virtually none of the knowledge needed to succeed.
I loved both hair & beauty equally, and with many years working for the largest hair salon chain in the
UK - Steiner, I eventually opened my own hair salon in Golders Green in London. For the next 9 years, I grew
both the business and my skill set and learned how to manage a thriving business. Whilst I was hairdressing
I was also able to pursue my other passion, and I achieved my teaching qualifications as well as a
master’s degree in Human Anatomy & Physiology.

As well as being one of the best hair salon groups,

to my portfolio to help me better manage staff and

I spent the next several years paying a fortune to
medics behind closed doors. They charged me five
times as much as they did a medic in order to train
me without their peers knowledge, however, it was
worth every penny and made me amazing at what I
do. Despite reaching the top of my game in delivering
injectable procedures, I wanted to take things a step
further and make a difference within the Cosmetics
and Injectables Industry. I decided my route was to
start at the source and work with the decision makers
at the highest level.
Throughout the Bruce Keogh report after the PIPS
scandal, I sat on a distinguished panel representing
non-medics and then continued my journey by
becoming part of numerous expert reference groups,
as well as working alongside HABIA and Industry
Qualifications (IQ). This work allowed the promotion of
best practice and high standards for both medics and
non-medics to be treated equally and train together
on one platform, supporting the safety of training for
the industry as a whole.

“I worked for a bank for over twenty years in a management capacity. A change of career came as a result of reversing a health problem from years of stress. I attended a health exhibition, and after completing a health questionnaire I discovered I had really bad health issues. I wanted to get better and took to studying the many ways that existed to help my recovery. I always knew I would become a teacher, but I had to learn to help myself before I could help others.
Soon after discovering the techniques of healing my body I realised and learned that I could change my internal terrain, that cells in your body can be replaced. I wanted to build total belief in all the varying supplements I was taking and holistic therapies I was practising. From a holistic point of view you have to look at all areas of the body.
After my education reached its peak point I then decided I was ready to help others. Using alternative therapies offered I took a new direction from working successfully in a bank to becoming a therapist, which in turn led onto gaining many more qualifications,

All students are different and we take care to work with each one, meeting their individual learning needs.
““I taught at local colleges and universities before opening a successful award winning private training school called UK Holistics, prior to opening aUK in October 2009 with my business partner Christopher Wade. In 2013 the freehold purchase of the aUK building allowed both the training school and aUK Spa to become amalgamated. I now head up the training department at aUK Cosmetics, and I am the NVQ Director. I am also the Assessor and IV Awards. Plus I oversee financial and stock aspects of the day to day running of the aUK business.
We work with VTCT on our Level 2 and Level 4 courses because more and more people want accredited courses that are insurable. Every course we teach here at aUK Cosmetics are both accredited and insured. My main responsibility outside of teaching the many students we have here is delivering and coordinating all of our courses. We have strong principles in looking after our trainees, we believe that our students journey begins when they first enquire about a course.
