Lead Pastor - Dr. Johnny Derouen

Thank you all for such a wonderful response when we

switched from two services to one for the summer. Seeing the Holy

Spirit move has been exciting and unifying and our numbers have not dropped off at all. Thanks for this goes to all of our people loving

on and inviting guests each Sunday.

A HUGE thank you to Debbie Miller, Shavonne Cragg, Debbie Babel and the

many, many volunteers that helped us make Vacation Bible School the success that

it was this year! There were 10 decisions made! And by the way - the flavor of the pie was great! Perfect aim Cara York!

Great job to Corey Seitz and the youth team for Falls Creek. There were 10

salvations that took place in our youth group while there. Wow!

I am so looking forward to resuming our Sunday nights in the Book of John and

Wednesday night meals and fellowship.

Thank you so much for the cards, letters and calls for my birthday, They truly

meant so much to me!

Be sure and read Psalms 92:1-2 and 84:9-12 and give God thanks for His majesty, greatness, love and forgiveness towards you.

I appreciate the pictures and video clips you have been sending

me of your activities around the church involving your class or

organization. Please keep them coming. I encourage ALL of you to keep me in mind when you are doing something special, reaching

out in the community or just being together. Adults don’t always see

what is going on in the children’s classes and children’s workers don’t

know what is going on with the adult classes. Did you know the youth are doing a service project every month? Did you know we are hosting children in our Christian

Life Center every day for 8 weeks this summer for Kamp Kidville? Let people know

what is going on so they can tell others in the community.

Keep Smiling!! You never know when Abigail will catch you just being you!!

We had an awesome time this year in Vacation Bible School. Many teachers remarked

that this was one of their favorites. The theme was Submerged: Finding Truth Below the

Surface. Not only was it a fun, easy theme to decorate for, all of our Bible stories were about

Jesus and how He saw people who needed a Savior. We had ten children pray to receive Jesus

and 45 children attended who did not list a church. While VBS 2016 has come and gone, there

is still work to be done. If you would like to help make

phone calls to homes of children who did not list a church

home, please contact Debbie Miller.

One of the exciting things about VBS is watching

to see what God is going to do, not only in the lives of

children, but in the lives of adults and teens who work in

VBS. This year one of our teens, Cara York, wanted to

teach one of the first grade classes. Cara just finished the

8th grade. I’ve watched Cara grow up the last four years

and when she volunteered, I felt confident she could

manage the responsibility. Many adults steer away from

teaching children, but Cara was ready for the challenge.

Cara had two adult helpers in her room and both said she

did a great job. Cara had to do most of her prep before

leaving for Falls Creek. She returned from Falls Creek on

Saturday prior to VBS and was ready to go on Monday.

I was so proud of the work she did.

We had 110 adults who helped

this year. Thank you for being the

best VBS staff around. Thanks also

to the staff of FBC Muskogee. Everyone from our ministers to our

custodians knows that VBS becomes the priority and they do everything

they can to make the week a success. Randy Holt, you are the best

Worship Rally leader. The kids love you! A huge thanks to my Kidville

Ministry team, Shavonne Cragg and Debbie Babel and my summer

intern, Mikayla Keeter. My hat is off to you. My greatest thanks is to

our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He knows our need and looks below

the surface to our hearts.

Now, begin praying about joining us for VBS 2017 Galactic

It’s time again for GAME NIGHT!! Thursday night,

August 4 at 6:30 p.m., we will have a game night in the

CLC snack bar area. The cost is only $5 for your food

and drink PLUS we will provide childcare by reservation. You must reserve your

spot by July 27. Bring your favorite game and a friend for a fun night out with

the girls. Tickets will go on sale July 17 in the Crossover.
