If you have a big vision for your business and a desire to grow using your website to make it happen, but find all that techy stuff really hold you back from then this short checklist is for you. Designed to give you an idea of what you need to have in place in order to achieve success and create an online sales and marketing systems for your business. You have probably been on loads of courses and programs telling you all the techniques you need but actually turning what they teach you into reality is a different matter. I have tried to provide for you an outline of the things you require so you can look at where you are now and fill the gaps in your existing funnel or where to start to create a new one. This is by no means a complete and extensive overview but should give you a good idea of where to get started. 1. The Overall Objective: Remember this fact if nothing else when thinking about your website; Your sites ultimate purpose should be to attract new customers and generate sales and revenue for your business. (It’s great if it looks cool as well, but that’s a bonus)

2. Do You Have An Intention for Your Site: A great way to think about this is to start from the back end. So are you looking to sell:

a. Digital Products: ebooks, reports, manuals, instructional guides.

b.Online Programs: Live and/or Recorded c. Offline Ticketed Events d. Consultations e.Group Work f. 121 Programs and Sessions

The list is pretty endless of what you can do, but really you should be looking to achieve all of these and more and driving your potential customers through the funnel systems.

Each of these should have their own funnel specific for that product and the component part of your site need to reflect what your outcome is, for example there would be

little point setting up an evergreen webinar series if you just intend to do workshops. 3. Your Home Page: Does your homepage have a Free offering above the fold of the page? (this needs to be more than just a “get our newsletter” offering) And needs to be clearly visible with an impactful Call To Action button.

4. Calls To Action: Your entire site should have multiple calls to action on each and every page, this could be in blog posts, sidebars, popups, in the navigation bar and links within the text. 5. Funnels: Each page on your site should have goal and action that you want your visitor to take depending where they are in your funnel process. For example: A blog post provides information on a specific problem that your potential customer is facing and looking to solve, these posts do not talk about what you offer, but you give them the option to enter one of your funnels, via something like a pop up or a link to a new landing page.

6. Essential Pages for Your Site: Here is a short list of the essential pages that you need to have on your site

when you begin offering your services online, you will more than likely have multiple Landing Pages, Sales Pages and Thank You Pages depending on how many products or services you offer. Many of my clients have multiple domains for each product and micro site with their own funnels.

a. Home Page

b. Blog Feed

c. FAQ

d. How it Works

e. About

f. Services (Sales Pages for each product)

g.Multiple Landing Pages (to capture contact into)

h.Order Pages with a Summary of the Sale

i. Thank You Pages with One Click Upsells

j. Store

k. Shopping Carts either integrated or stand alone

l. Delivery/ Download Pages, which could also include entire membership sites

7. Autoresponders: You need to be able to communicate with the potential new clients that have joined your sales funnels. Autoresponders automate all of your email marketing tasks including:

Signing up new subscribers Sending a welcome message to new subscribers telling them what they can expect from your email list

Managing and organizing your list of subscribers Sending broadcast messages to your list for you Allowing you to schedule followup messages so they don't need to be sent manually

Providing you with detailed analytics so that you can monitor your progress

When you use an autoresponder, you only need to write your messages and load them up into the program. The program takes care of the rest for you.

8. Payment Gateways, Shopping Carts and Merchant Accounts: Before you start taking payments online, it's important to have an online payment processor. The most popular payment processor is PayPal. This service handles your sales transactions for you, as well as offering other tools such as its 'pay now' button. This button allows site visitors to make payments instantly by clicking it and then logging into their PayPal account. Signing up for an online payment processor is much easier than getting a credit card merchant account. There are a variety of services beyond PayPal, such as Google Checkout, Amazon Payments and Authorize.net, and the more processors you sign up with, the more options you give your customers. The best part is that transactions are fully automated through the web. 9. Automatic Payments: There are also many ways to automate recurring billing and invoicing. This can be done through most payment processors such as PayPal or your merchant account by creating 'subscription' payments for clients, customers or services. This is great when you are looking to set up a pay monthly membership site. 10. Delivering Your Products: Finally you are at the end stage of the process, (before it starts again and you place your new customers into another funnel!) There are many different way to deliver your final products and services.

You could be delivering an entire video series through a mini membership site or live interactive webinars through google hangouts or simply providing a download of your latest book. Things to consider are how you are going to get the product to the end user and also how you are going to protect the content so it stays safe. Using services like Amazon AWS allow you to store and protect your digital products and provide encrypted download links and the options to stream videos through your site. I highly recommend this as a great way to keep everything in one secure place.

11. Analytics and Testing: This is sometimes overlooked as it seems complex and has lots of reporting but if you do not know how your pages are performing, it is virtually impossible to see where to make improvements and chart progress. Analytics give you data that's objective and accurate so that you can make key decisions about your business. When you automate your testing and analytics, you can spend your time analyzing this data and making these decisions, and not tracking down or organizing the data itself. Analytics Software

There are a number of website analytics software programs available. Google Analytics is a great one to start should be easy to install within your website. These programs report data such as:

Number of visitors Visitor demographics Sites that refer traffic to your site and other data on traffic sources Which keywords visitors are using to find your site How well your site ranks for chosen keywords Bounce rate and page views

11.5 SplitTesting Splittesting is an important part of any marketing campaign. The idea is that you create two different versions of your content and then track the results. The version that gets the best results is then the one you choose to implement. Splittesting is most often used for landing pages where conversions are essential, but it can be used for absolutely anything you do, such as emails, videos, signup forms and ads, as well as individual components of a website (titles, headers, calls to action, etc.)
