Geoff worked hard to reach his goal of becoming a commercial pilot. He had a difficult time applying himself to books while he was in school. But soon after graduating from Lord Byng Secondary School (where he was a member of the B.C. provincial championship rugby team) he became very determined to do what it took to achieve that goal. He scrimped, saved and borrowed, and did it. He was also a thoughtful, easy-going, mild mannered young man, who made and kept many friendships. This Scholarship is a testament to Geoff’s determination and to those friendships.

Geoff was a caring person. He was strong, but with a romantic heart. He would listen to the problems of others but not burden them with his own. He was loyal, steadfast and honest. He trusted his instincts. The Marines have a phrase for it; he was the kind of guy you wanted in a foxhole with you when the going got tough. He wasn’t the kind of guy who blew his own horn, but he was justifiably proud of his accomplishments. He loved flying, traveling, sports and partying. He cooked and played the guitar. He was no armchair observer of life. He got out there and lived it.
