7 in a Row- Zone Swimming Carnival Champions It was a superb day on Friday to attend the PSSA Finley Zone Swimming Carnival. Our 31 swimmers representing Tocumwal Public School performed admirably throughout the day giving their very best in all races as we knew they would. All swimmers showed great determination and sportsmanship. As always they again shone out wearing the team attire. The Tocumwal students supported each other, cheering and chanting bringing their team mates home in all races. As a result, we won the overall championship team for the day. This makes it seven years in a row. An extremely impressive effort by all students!
In addition, four individual highlights were: Mia Owen awarded Junior Girls Zone Champion with a new zone record added to her growing list of achievements, Heath Mansell 11Yrs Boys Zone Champion, Molly-Mae Ruigrok 11Yrs Girls Zone Champion and Logan White being awarded Senior Boys Zone Champion which included him breaking an additional three zone records in the process. Well done to all of them for their individual achievements.
A big thank you to Mrs Hatty and all of our carnival parent helpers on the day including those who took on the stopwatches. We are so very grateful for your support and positive vibes. Regional Swimming Carnival 21 students have qualified for the Regional Carnival to be held in Albury on Wednesday 11th March. Congratulations to all of these wonderful swimmers. Good luck and do your very best.

Clean Up Australia Day Our students participated in Clean Up Australia Day activities last week as organised by the SRC. Thank you to all of our children who helped pick up some rubbish and make our school and community surrounds a neater and tidier place. Life Education Van Visit This week we have had a visit from “Healthy Harold” and the Life Education Van. Life Education has been empowering children and young people to make safer and healthier choices through education for 40 years. They are Australia's largest preventative health organisation, endeavouring to empower children to live a safe and healthy life through education. By placing preventive education at the core of their work, they instil in children the confidence to make safer and healthier choices now and in the future. School Fees The 2020 School Fee Contribution Form was attached to the Newsletter in Week 2.This also takes into account the cost of text books and consumables. It also has the option to buy a Riversider (School Magazine 2020) at a reduced price at the start of the year. It would be appreciated if you could return the form to the school office with your payment promptly. We thank you in advance for your contribution. Skoolbag App Skoolbag is our parent communication app for parents and caregivers of students from our school. This app has many functions from being able to alert parents from individual classes or the whole school of events that are coming up or to notify if the bus is running late home from an excursion. It uses free push notification alerts. It will have the latest newsletter for you to view as well as having the functionality for parents to send an absentee note directly to school if your child is away. If you get stuck come in and see us here at school we will be only too happy to help you install it. Our aim is to further develop our communication between school and home. Reminder: If your child is absent from school just fill out an absentee form on the Tocumwal skoolbag App and send it through electronically. It is very easy to do.
