TIPS 4th Annual One-on-One Conversation Partner Program Coming Again This Summer The days are getting brighter. The weather is getting
warmer. Summer is just around the corner. Have
you thought about your summer plans? We have.
TIPS (Truro International Programs & Services) will be running its 4th
Annual Summer Conversation Partner Program, TIPS One-on-One.
Over the past three summers about 60 Truro members (individually or
as couples) have been blessed by their involvement with our growing
international community. Here’s what one Truro member had to say
about her involvement.
My TIPS friend and I are getting along very well. She is just lovely, and we
have no empty, awkward spaces when there is no topic to discuss. I'm
so glad to have met her! Thanks so much for getting me involved! As it happens with volunteering, you get so much more out of the experience
than you give.
So what’s the essence of the program? One Truro volunteer with One TIPS international friend—meeting once a week for One hour —six times
over the summer. You and your partner arrange the time and meeting place. The commitment is small but the blessings are great! Think about
it & pray about it.
TIPS volunteers wearing bright yellow buttons will be at the TIPS display on May 8th. Complete details & online registration can be found at www.
trurochurch.org/TIPS. Orientation for new volunteers will be held on May 15th & 22nd. Matching of partners will occur on June 5th, at 4 PM.
Please RSVP to Karen Kirk in the TIPS office ([email protected] or 703.273.1300 x 510).

statements of the two nominees, the Ven. Julian Dobbs and the Rt. Rev. John Guernsey, to provide guidance for Truro’s convention delegates.
The Vestry approved Joey Fitzgerald as our Director of Family Ministry and assistant clergy , and Jack Maier as Chair of the
Alternative Campus Task Force. The Chancellor provided a litigation status report. Reports were also provided by the Negotiations and
Settlement Task Force and the Contingency Planning and Implementation Committee. The meeting ended with a service of Compline.
