Berti’s mulchers are as renowned for their strength

and durability as they are for their maneuverability and

efficiency. When mulching is not done properly the

consequences can be devastating and come at a cost that

no orchardist or viticulturalist can afford. With a Berti

Mulcher prunings are not mulched to chip and chunk

size and left to rot, they are virtually pureed to pulp or

sawdust-like matter, playing a vital role in helping combat

the spread of disease that can decimate orchards and

vineyards.

New Zealand’s favourable weather conditions can produce

vigorous growth to challenge any mulcher, which is why

Berti stands out as a quality performer. Its high-speed rotor

(2300rpm), together with two rows of counter combs and

rear pruning retention rakes ensure fine mulch is achieved

no matter how big the prunings. When mulch is broken

down to such a sawdust- like medium it eliminates the

risk of disease. After mulching, when it is exposed to the

weather, it very quickly returns to the soil as a nutritient

replacement. Berti mulchers don’t leave chips and chunks

exposed to rot over time. When the fine mulch is released

under the roller it is firmly pressed into the soil

Berti will withstand severe punishment with its heavy-duty

RHS headstock and its double row self-aligning bearing on

a 60mm stub shaft, one of the heaviest in the industry. Its

high-speed rotor is the only rotor on the market with drop

forged flail lugs for added strength, especially in harsh and

undulating conditions, while the flame hardened cast steel

flails serve for a long mulching life.

With the bearings fully embedded in the rotor, this cost

effective machine keeps maintenance costs low by

providing maximum protection from moisture and dirt

and from dangerous foreign objects such as wire. It also

features a double skin in the mulching chamber for rigidity

and protection of the outer skin, this also reduces denting

when used in stony vineyards.

The Berti TFB/Y mulcher is very compact as it keeps the

weight as close as possible to the tractor and provides

better maneuverability. A full width adjustable rear roller is

used for height control and is mounted as close as possible

to the rotor to keep scalping to a minimum.
