Texas Correctional Industries (TCI) was established in 1963, with the passage of Senate Bill 338, the Prison Made Goods Act. TCI manufactures goods and

provides services to state and local government agencies, public educational systems, private or independent institutions of higher education, and other tax-supported entities.

TCI’s statutory objectives are: 1) provide work program participants with marketable job skills to help reduce recidivism through a coordinated

program of job skills training, documentation of work history, and access to resources provided by Project Re-Integration of Offenders (Project RIO) and the Texas Work Force Commission, including access to resources provided through assistance to local workforce development boards in referring work program participants to the Project RIO employment referral services provided under Section 306.001, Labor Code; and 2) reduce Texas Department of Criminal Justice costs by providing products and services to the agency and providing products and services for sale, on a for-profit basis.

Personal hygiene PaCks (PhP) have been assembled to accommodate a wide range of applications. DELIVERY: F.O.B. Destination 90 days after receipt of purchase order (ARO). This contract provides for two different delivery techniques:

Routine Dock Delivery: TCI will deliver items to the using entity’s receiving dock and in the absence of a receiving dock; the order will be placed inside the front door of the lowest floor. The receiving entity is responsible for all additional movement to storage or user location.

Inside/Installation: An additional fee will be charged for this service. “Inside Installation” means delivery of the packaged furniture to a specified room on a particular floor of a user building. TCI will take action to cause the freight carrier to deliver, un-package and install the packaged furniture to this specified location. The using entity shall be responsible for the removal of any existing furniture and equipment from the area in which the contract items are to be installed. An additional charge may apply if no elevator is available.

Installation:A flat rate per item installation charge is available only for deliveries within the following Council of Government Districts 12,13,14,15,16 & 18. Installation of deliveries to Council of Government Districts outside of those listed above shall be by quote only and included in the Purchase Order using Clause #36.

With the Flip-Tex system you can renew the beauty of an upholstered seating unit four ways: reverse seat and back cushions, clean covers on seat and back cushions, replace covers on seat and back cushions or replace entire seat and back cushions.

FEATURES:Flip-Tex seating designs allow you to replace cushions instantly – without ever removing the unit from service. Seat and back cushions are completely removable and reversible, but are firmly locked into place.Cushions are unlocked by merely inserting the oak “flip-stick” provided with the furniture into the locking mechanism and then sliding the cushion off the support tubes. Maximum Security Cell DoorThis 3’x70” sliding or hinged AD SEG cell door has two 5”x30” vertical view ports and 3/8” formed Lexan shield to prevent injuries to employees. The door is made of 10 gauge ASTM-A-36 sheet metal and 1/8” x3/4”x1 1/2” channel frame with 1/4” steel stiffener plates with 1/2” holes drilled in the upper and lower exterior horizontal channel for ventilation and drainage and will be located at all mounting points. Trash Can Holders Post is fabricated from 1-5/8” outside diameter galvanized pipe 5 ft. long. Assemblies are 3/16” thick steel plate attached to pipe sleeves. Tire Retreading & RepairingTires delivered to the Texas Department of Corrections/Darrington Tire Technology Facility (DTTF) will be retreaded and repaired in compliance with Texas Specification No. 060-75-1, to insure the safest retread tires possible. Our facility retreading process utilizes the recommended standards set by International Tire Retread Association (ITRA), of which we are a member.Equipment used in our retreading process is among the latest technology available. The G 100 Matteuzzi and Hawkinson Non-Destructive Tester (NDT II) are utilized in the final stages to insure that the finished product conforms to the Texas Specification No. 060-75-1. Application of tread rubber will utilize the AMF Orbitread Electonic Treadmaker or the Tread BonderPre-cure System. DTTF and the customer agency will jointly determine the parameters and repair limits to insure a safe and quality product. F.O.B. Darrington Tire Retreading Facility. The Facility is located 23 miles south of Houston, Texas on Highway 521. Trailer, Beavertail - 39 Ft.The 39’ beavertail trailer is a three-axle dual wheel trailer with a maximum carrying capacity of 38,000 pounds. These trailers have a 6’ tongue, 27’ flat deck (runner), and 6’ beavertail (dovetail) at no more than a 12 degree angle. Trailers come standard with a beavertail loading ramp, standard spring suspension, truck supported hydraulic system, pintle hitch connection, hub-odometer, drop leg jack, and air breaks with ABS. This trailer is also available with an oak deck or composite deck. Many other trailer models are available: 16 Ft. 18 Ft., and20 Ft. Utility Trailers33 Ft. Spreader Box - 10 Yard10 Cubic Yard water level, 102” Pin-mounted. The 102” spreader box is available in two models. The pin-mounted model that is attached to the dump bed via the tailgate locking mechanism, and the slide-in model that is inserted into the dump bed itself. The units are designed to spread different types of materials over an 8 foot wide path. The spreader slots are made of 1/2” plate steel for strength and each slot is capable of covering an area of 16-1/2” x 6”. The units spreading area can be regulated at each individual slot for a desired spreading surface. The spreader box is constructed of 10 gauge plate steel and comes with an air actuated control valve. All of our spreader boxes are constructed with a minimum of 90% recycled material. 6 yd. spreader boxes are also available.
