TET-tori

•  The University of Jyväskylä’s Finnish Institute for Educational Research’s national webservice

–  takes care of the maintenance and –  further development of the approach, in co-

operation with the field’s experts as well as with different national and regional actors

–  research is integrated in the developmental work

•  TET-tori is developed from the initiative of companies and educational facilities in Central Finland as well as from the demand in the province

Goals

•  To support the PPO (Practical Professional Orientation) activities –  Substance development –  Updating the companies and educational

facilities with current information and organaizing PPO activities

•  To secure the availability of competent workers in the subregion

•  Active transitions in educational stages •  To add interest in education •  To guide the youth towards education,

working life and active citizenship

Goals

•  Promoting the co-operation and links between working life, different actors in the society and educational facilities

•  Municipalities or subregions can centralize the production of the materials used in the guidance and study counselors can focus more efficiently and directly in guidance and creating substance in experiencing working life

•  To add and encourage the use of cyber based environments in education

Pupil •  finds information about available PPO places •  gets to know different companies and workplaces and professions •  gets information about the expectations of the PPO place •  is able to write the PPO reports while making use of the network •  gets information about further study options •  gets information about the links between different fields of education and industry

Study Counselor •  finds the basic information of the PPO places gathered in one spot •  may use the site as support in guidance work •  may read the reports of students via web •  may make use of the materials during PPO periods •  encourages comprehensive co-operation

Companies/workplaces •  introduce yourself to pupils •  give an overview of your field •  inform about PPO oportunities •  may update PPO information easily •  may use the materials •  promote cooperation between companies/workplaces and schools

Guardians •  get basic information about the practical professional orientation period •  get information about further study options •  get infomation about the links between different industries and educational fields

Starting-up Regional TET-tori Page

•  Regional TET-tori contact person –  works as a correspondent in the setting up and

planning stages of the subregional TET-tori

•  Regional Study Counselors –  together take part in marketing the regional
