Test Shots

- My test shots are quite reliant on their backgrounds

as I thought that background and scenery would be more important than any props and pose better photos than any close up photos due to editing reasons. The

background offers a lot of different directions in terms of accentuating the model or making particular areas

of the background the focus. For example making the background black and white and increasing the

contrast and various other tonal elements of the photo

allows for a mask layer where maybe just one item on the model is in a colour;

same applies for the background. The photo

edits will be a key feature of my magazine so the

actual photo’s themselves do not need to be the

perfect shot as they will eventually turn into something that still

resembles the original but any imperfections will have

been dealt with in the process. The reasoning

behind them being taken at different times in the day is so that the lights and darks are not static throughout

the magazine. Again this is for editing purposes as the contrasts will effectively be opposite on the images in the day as a pose to those at night due to the lighting. Taking them during the day

also gave me the opportunity to capture the sky, which is an excellent portion of the shot to edit since it is such a washed, grey tone as this opens up many options to enhance,
