About the Area

Jaco and the surrounding areas have been long known for the

surf. Once a sleepy rural town now a world class surfing and

travel destination. Jaco is located just over an hour from the main

international airport and is centrally located on the coast close to

all kinds of attractions and activities such as: beaches, national

parks, canopy tours, wild life reserves, etc. It also offers a variety

of local and international cuisine, souvenir stores, shopping, with

a combination of luxury and affordable accommodations from

hotels to "cabinas" and high end resorts. Although a small town

Jaco has a lot to offer, it is accessible, bilingual, and filled with

friendly locals. Whether your here for a week or a month it is one

of the countries top destinations!

Papas & Burgers Art Cafe is one of Jaco s most popular

backpacker/surfer hangouts with its eclectic mix of music and

friendly staff, not to mention the best home-made gourmet

burgers on the beach. At P&B we also offer smoothies, salads,

vegetarian dishes, and much more.

Poseidon

Cuisines: International Evening brings life to our active, but

quaint restaurant where you can hear the sounds of soft jazz or

the passing locals making their way from the beach.Serving a

variety of dishes from "asian infused" mahi mahi, tuna, filet

migñon and much more great food here in Jacó Costa Rica. The

salad dressings are homemade and the thick pieces of yellow fin

tuna are caught fresh daily. Patricia changes the menu every few

days, so diners will always have a new dish to sample.

El Malecon

Cuisines: Costa Rican

El Malecon is a corner oceanfront local bar and restaurant

located in Jaco Beach. Serves good food with a great ocean

sunset view. Dining options: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Specials in bocas (Costa Rica appetizers) and Cocktails.

Hicaco

Cuisines: Seafood El Hicaco Restaurant is a beautiful place

where you can enjoy a beautiful sunset and a delicious meal at

the same time. The food is delicious and the setting is simply

wonderful: right on the edge of Jaco beach, with the majority of

the tables outdoors under the stars, tall palm trees, and mood

lighting. Their speciality is the Seafood, They have the best

Lobster Dishes in town such as Lobster Crêpes, Lobster Turn

Hicaco

over, Lobster Cream and of course Grilled Lobster.

You won’t like to miss their Wednesday nights! They have the

best buffet ever: Jumbo Shrimps, Seafood Plate, Lobster, Grilled

Mahi-Mahi, Chicken and Meat Cuts,  Salad Bar, Sushi, 6 Side

dishes options, Pasta Station, Table Desserts, drinks, cocktails,

wine…you can eat and drink all you want!

Tsunami Sushi

Cuisines: Japanese, International.

Great location and delicious sushi. Some unique sushi pieces,

fresh shirmp marlin, tuna and dorado every day. You can watch

the fish being delivered everyday that was caught only hours

earlier. Great atmosphere and creative sushi rolls that are

amazing. Make sure to take advantage of their specials.

They have a big menu with a wide variety of dishes.

Graffiti Restro Cafe and Wine Bar

Cuisines: International, Mediterranean, Pacific Rim, Seafood. The

food is excellent and the staff is super friendly. They have a nice

selection of wines and good music. Graffiti is a small place but

that's part of its charm, it's hidden away from the main street.

Being off the main drag allows you the option to sit outside in

cool evening breeze or inside the air conditioned. They offer

brunch on Sunday's with Bloody Marys and Mimosas, eggs

Benedict and more.

Everything is serve very promptly and the restaurant staff is very

friendly, helpful and spoke good English.

Tsunami Sushi offers many traditional and non traditional rolls.

Try the Bobby Special, a house recipe, or the tuna poke,

delicious!!

Pili Pili

Cuisines: International. This restaurant is a gourmet

extravaganza! Get entice by the "French-African-Asian" food

label. The casual nature of the restaurant is welcoming in this

beach town. When the food arrive you will astounded by the

perfection of the presentation, as well as the combination of

flavors, sauces, and foods on each plate. If you are vegetarian,

the chef will "surprise you. Everyone agrees, this is world-class

cuisine.

Pecatti di Gola

Cuisines: Italian. If you like Italian food, you will soon love it! They

serve the best gnocchi, it melts in your mouth, it is fresh for sure,

and the sauses are to die for! Cream, gorgonzola, Bolognese and

much more. Your first visit to this restaurant will be memorable. A

small mom and pop place with a lot of character. Everybody

loves the lasagna, mar y monte pasta (small shrimp with pasta

and a white sauce) and the spinach ravioli with walnuts.

The food is just gorgeous, try the escargots to start and the

crunchy brie roll, and then the seabass served with clams and

delicious sauce and the tuna (the plate looked like a painting!)

and to finish an excellent mango mousse so fresh!!

Soda Nenitas

Cuisines: Costa Rican. The best Typical Food in Town, try the

best" Casados"(rice, beans, chicken, beef or pork, salad and a

juice), Olla de Carne (meat and vegetable soup), delicious

Breakfast (gallo pinto) and much more. This is a local place that

every tourist must visit. This is a family owned restaurant and

they have the most friendly staff. They have delivery service

available!
