ACADEMIC AWARDS ASSEMBLY
FRIDAY 28 FEBRUARY 2020
Time : 08h00
Parents and guardians of award winners are invited to attend this bi-annual event.
(Recipients to be announced)
We were unable to achieve a quorum on Wednesday
5 February when we conducted our SGB by-
elections.
I had advertised in the original notice of the meeting
that if we failed to achieve a quorum then we would
convene a second meeting on Thursday 6 February in
order to conduct the elections without a quorum be-
ing required.
This is not in accordance with the legal requirement
of between 7-14 days notice. As a result we have de-
cided to conduct a new second round by-election.
Wednesday 4 March is the new date, if a
quorum is not reached, Thursday 12 March
will be the next date
TEST DAYS
You would all have received our test timetable
for the next few weeks. You will note that the
tests are on Tuesdays and Fridays from 07H45
until 08H55. We are running standardised tests
for subjects that do not have an opportunity in the
timetable to conduct such testing.
The current model allows your child to arrive at
school by 08h55 for the start of P1. This model
has not worked. There is too much noise for the
test writers. From 03 March everyone must be at
school by 07H45, anyone not writing must sit in
their register class and read during that hour.
