Top drives, a luxury mostly utilized for offshore, expanded into the land rig market when Tesco created a feasible

option to integrate into the rig structure without significant modifications to the mast. A small profile top drive coupled

with a high power capacity entered and changed the way the industry viewed onshore drilling efficiency.

This platform developed into today’s full line of top drive models that see utilization in both offshore and land based

applications. With tonnage ratings spanning from 150 to 750 tons, Tesco top drives have the capacity to drill the

industries current and future demand for longer horizontal wells. Furthermore, each top drive is equipped with a high

torque range that will put the driller at ease as our top drives have the power to keep turning to the right through tough

Tesco’s team of dedicated service and repair technicians commissions new units and re-certifies working units

including top drives, power units and other Tesco products. Tesco’s maintenance team is among the most well trained

in the business. Field personnel provide rig-up and installation services as well as on-site training and top

drive supervision. Maintenance contracts are also available.

Beyond providing superior products, Tesco delivers exceptional aftermarket support throughout the life cycle of

our customers’ equipment. Tesco has strategically located world-class support centers available 24/7. This is

From anywhere in the world, clients are able to view the status and location of their equipment.

The Tesco automated Catwalk (TAC) transfers casing between the pipe rack and the rig floor in the safest and most

controlled manner possible. It can be operated wirelessly with a remote or manually from the catwalk’s valve bank.

Every TAC is equipped with an on-board Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) system, which allows the operator

to move critical functions of the catwalk simultaneously, positioning it precisely where the trough needs to be on

the rig floor.

Our models vary from small, mobile systems to our largest catwalk which can present tubulars to most rig floors up

to 40 feet tall. Each TAC model has a unique open belly design which provides for easier maintenance and a safer

working environment.
