Dear Parents & Community,

2020 Organisation

We are firmly in the planning and preparation stage for 2020. As previously indicated, we are on track to retain our current 19 class structure for 2020, albeit with quite full classes. Our anticipated enrolments are fluctuating around the point where we may have to form a 20th class, if we receive enrolments from just 3 more students. Given this, it is vital that we have an accurate understanding of the students who will be leaving ENPS at the end of the year, as just one or two students could make the difference between needing to arrange a new building to be brought onsite and furnished and a new teacher employed to start in 2020. If you know your family will be leaving ENPS at the end of this year and you have not already done so, please let us know by completing and returning the form in this newsletter or by emailing [email protected].

I have had many parents enquire about the last day of school for 2019. We would just like to clarify that the last school day is Week 10 Wednesday 18 December 2019.

We are planning to hold an evacuation drill some time in the next fortnight. Given the changeability of the hot weather at the moment, we have not set a firm date at this time, but will make an assessment the day prior. strong. Our school newsletter is the most highly valued form of communication along with face to face interviews. Parents report that students average approximately 20 minutes homework per day and that they spend approximately 15 minutes per day assisting them with that homework. The survey also suggested that parents would prefer on average, 4 minutes per day less homework than currently assigned. In terms of school facilities, 95% of respondents felt that our school environment is welcoming and that the school is well maintained. 91% of respondents indicated they would recommend Epping North to prospective parents.

MODERN JAZZ & BOYS’ DANCE NEWS

Wow! What a year the P&C Dance program has had. We’re so proud of all of the kids for their amazing performances last Thursday.

A reminder that classes will go ahead as normal this week. Registration for Dance for Fun will open in the next few days.

Thank You

Thank you to all the dance parents for your support and assistance throughout the year. It’s a great program and without your support we wouldn’t be able to offer it.

A massive shout out to all the parents who helped backstage on Thursday night in the dressing rooms – your help made things run smoothly.

A special thank you to Nikki Finch and her dad for taking photos of each group before they came on stage – we can’t wait to see the photos.

We would like to say a really big thank you to all our families that transported costumes to the concert and all the families that took home costumes to wash - it is very much appreciated. A couple of boxes that went home with parents got mixed up, so if you have taken home a box to wash can you please email or message Julien to let her know what you have so she knows where all the costumes are. Also if you have any questions or are unsure about how to wash certain costumes or where to return them please email [email protected].

Again thank you - it's all these little volunteer jobs where everyone pitches in that contribute to the smooth running of the whole program!

Concert Video Another thank you to the Malek family who jumped on board to film the concert at short notice. In the next few days we will open video purchases on Flexischools. Videos will be $15 each – and will be distributed in a few weeks’ time. Dance For Fun We will once again be running the popular Dance For Fun program from week beginning Monday 25 November. Registration will open in the next few days via Flexischools. Class days will be announced once we have registrations. Please act quickly to register your child/ren so we can confirm classes. Dance Committee 2020 We have a great little committee that works with the school and our dance teachers to keep the program running smoothly. In 2020 we need two new additions to the dance team – someone who likes numbers and someone else who likes organising things. We’re currently divvying up responsibilities to help take the load off any specific role. If you’re interested in joining us to help keep our program running smoothly, please email [email protected].
