HORTICULTURAL SHOW RULES • The Terling and Fairstead Horticultural Society shall consist of members subscribing £1 or

more a year. This will entitle admission to the Annual Show • Admission at the door for adult non-members - 15 and over- will be £1

No charge for children 14 years and under. • All exhibits MUST be listed on one entry form to be completed by each exhibitor and

returned , together with 25p for each entry, to .... Clare Maslen,

Terling CM3 2PG by 7pm on Thursday 10th September 2020 SORRY—NO LATE ENTRIES CAN BE ACCEPTED

• Exhibitors must ensure that a card, supplied by the Committee, bearing their name and class number is placed by each exhibit The Committee will not be responsible for any mistakes • No competitor may be allowed more than one entry in each class number • All exhibits must be in place and all exhibitors must have left the hall by 10.45am on the day of the Show • No exhibits to be removed before the presentation of prizes, which will take place at approximately 4.30pm • Whilst all reasonable care will be taken, the Committee cannot accept any responsibility for any loss or damage to exhibits or property • Only persons authorised by the Committee may be present during judging • Points will be awarded as follows:

1st Prize 3 points 2nd Prize 2 points 3rd Prize 1 point

• The judges decision is final. They do not necessarily have to award 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes

Children • Children 14 years and under shall be entirely free as regards membership, entrance fees

and admission to the Show • An entry form must be completed for each child • All entries must be their own work and completed in the current year • Child’s age on the date of the Show must be clearly stated on the entry form

SECTION 1 VEGETABLES

• Exhibits must be grown or produced in exhibitor’s own gardens, allotments or hedges • Ensure exact number of specimens specified are exhibited • Roots should be washed not scrubbed • Onions should not be skinned – remove loose skin only • Where appropriate exhibits should be securely tied with as much top cut away as possible • Fruit, cucumbers, tomatoes, peas and beans should not have stalks removed • Do not polish fruit • Don’t overcrowd your exhibit • If possible, name varieties – on entry card or slip of paper
