Objectives of the Tour

Centre for Agriculture and Rural Development is an apex body at the

national level in India, which acts as think tank and policy, development

catalyst and monitoring center for food and agriculture sector and

facilitates trade cooperation investments and technology promotion in

agriculture sector. CARD represents the interests of all the key stake-

holders in Indian agri food sector; namely farmers, industry, research and

development sector, NGOs and rural institutions for the agrarian

prosperity. One of the major mandates of CARD is to promote technology

exposure visits and trade and agribusiness cooperation, nationally and

internationally.

The focus of the tour is to explore new agro technologies, resource

management particularly water conservation, advanced farming

practices including hi-tech cultivation in green houses and mechanical

harvesting of tree fruits. CARD shall organize visit of farmers to various

places of agricultural importance in Israel. The opportunity will be explored

for providing training and cooperation in transfer of technologies in post

harvest management and value addition for fruits, vegetables and other

products. The delegation shall visit Tel Aviv Agriculture Research Station,

which will provide exposure to the latest in technologies, inputs and its

systems. The visit also includes various other sites of agriculture

advancements, including farms, institutions and agro food processing

units.

thThe 20 International Agricultural Exhibition & Conference, May 8 – 10, 2018, Tel-Aviv, IsraelAgritech 2017, ATRI - Annual event is organized by Agritech association, Kenes international the Israel trade fair & convention center in co-operation with the ministry of agriculture and rural development, the Israel institute for export & international co-operation, the ministry of industry trade, labor and the ministry of foreign Affairs.The Agritech association is a nonprofit organization, which includes the following member: The ministry of agriculture & rural development, Kibbutz industry association, water workers association, Field workers organization, Ruppin Institute, Israel farmers federation, Israel association for agriculture engineering and Bluestein Ben Gurion University of the Negev. A conference on agriculture related topics will take place alongside the exhibition. Also professional tour and networking meetings will be organized during the event.The Agritech Israel 2015 has some of the most advanced technologies and farming systems on display, which are visited by more than fifty countries every three years. In Agritech 2016, more than 300 Indian official, farmers, experts and agribusiness industry executives had participated. CARD the affiliate organization, as an authorized body by the Israel government had mounting a delegation of 30 members to Agritech Israel 2012 for eight days.
