Ten Broeck Tennessee specializes in rehabilitating adults with psychiatric disorders and chemical dependency.

We offer inpatient hospitalization and outpatient partial hospitalization care. OUR PHILOSOPHY

Behavioral healthcare is the result of an individual’s positive adaptation to their environment where the individual is able to accept the limits of and maximize the capabilities of their biological, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual endowments.

The Adult Behavioral Healthcare Program at Ten Broeck Tennessee works to provide the highest quality care for patients with moderate to severe behavioral health illnesses. The current field of psychiatry treatment applies knowledge in psychiatry and chemical dependency with the goal of promoting mental health.

Because behavioral health disorders are complex and often multi-determined, we use a treatment team approach to the diagnosis and treatment. This team is led by a board eligible or board certified psychiatrist. The patient is treated based on his or her developmental level and each team member iden-tifies the specific strengths and weaknesses of that patient in order to create the best treatment plan.

Ten Broeck Tennessee’s Behavioral Healthcare unit is licensed as an adult inpatient psychiatric hospital for treatment of acute psychiatric, dual-diagnosis and chemical dependency illness.

Adult Psychiatric Program

Ten Broeck Hospital offers a highly structured Adult Psychiatric Inpatient Program that utilizes the Medical Model of Treatment for treating adults, ages 18 and over, who are experiencing problems with psychiatric illnesses and/or emotional disorders. This program is designed to provide the highest level of direct patient care which includes physical, social, spiritual, medical and psycho-therapeutic treatment interventions.

• A safe setting with 24-hour skilled nursing care.• Thorough assessment by a Registered Nurse and development of an initial treatment plan.• Evaluation and crisis stabilization by a multidisciplinary team (including a nurse, social worker, activity therapist) directed by a psychiatrist.• Psychiatric evaluation by a psychiatrist.• Physical examination and intervention by a physician.• Pharmacological interventions as necessary.

• Development of an individualized Master Treatment Plan by the multidisciplinary team which is problem oriented, contains measurable objectives, and addresses criteria for discharge.• Development of a comprehensive discharge plan.• Psycho-educational groups and individual psycho-therapy sessions as required.• Therapeutic groups that address the areas of assertiveness, problem solving, grief resolution, life planning, stress management, self-image, social skills, occupational therapy, recreational therapy, art and music therapy.• Individual therapy required.• Participation of family in treatment. Following completion of the Adult Psychiatric Inpatient Program, an appropriate referral is then made for the patient to continue treatment in the least restrictive level of care possible (i.e., partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, outpatient). The level of care recommended is based on the individual needs of the patient.

Adult Chemical Dependency Program

Ten Broeck Hospital offers a highly structured Adult Chemi-cal Dependency Inpatient Program that utilizes a Medical and 12 Step Model of Treatment for treating chemically dependent adults ages 18 and over. This program is designed to provide the highest level of direct patient care that is possible which includes physical, social, spiritual, medical, psychotherapeutic and 12 step treatment interventions. An individually structured intensive program, the Adult Chemi-cal Dependency Inpatient Program focuses on breaking the denial of Chemical Dependency and beginning the process of recovery. The unit detox program is specific for Alcohol abuse/dependence, Benzodiazepine dependence, and Opiate dependence.

• A safe setting with 24-hour skilled nursing care. • Thorough assessment and monitoring by a Registered Nurse experienced in assessment and treatment of chemically dependent individuals, and development of an initial treatment plan. • Evaluation and crisis stabilization by a multidisciplinary team (including a nurse, certified chemical dependency counselor, social worker, activity therapist, and dietitian) directed by a psychiatrist. • Psychiatric evaluation by a psychiatrist. • Physical examination and intervention by a physician.

• Pharmacological interventions as indicated. • Development of an individualized Master Treatment Plan by the multidisciplinary team which is problem oriented, goal directed, contains measurable objectives, and addresses criteria for discharge. • Development of a comprehensive discharge plan.• Educational groups with focus on the disease process of Chemical Dependency, Twelve Steps of AA/NA, process of recovery, process of relapse and nutrition. • Therapeutic groups that address the areas of denial, feelings (including shame, guilt and anger) assertiveness, problem solving, grief resolution, life planning, stress and coping skills, self-image, social skills, occupational therapy, recreational therapy, art and music therapy. • Individual therapy as needed. • Group therapy and educational groups for family members and/or significant others.

Following completion of the Adult Chemical Dependency Inpatient Program, an appropriate referral is then made for the patient to continue treatment in the least restrictive level of care possible (i.e., partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, outpatient, aftercare program). The level of care recommended is determined by the individual needs of the patient.
