•Telescopes are used to collect light from space•Telescopes allowed astronomers to conduct experiments, giving astronomy credibility as a hard science•Telescopes with mirrors are called reflectors, and make up most of the world’s largest telescopes•Telescopes with lenses are called refractors, but they have issues•Bigger telescopes can collect more light, so we can see further and in more detail•We use different kinds of telescopes to collect different wavelengths of light
