Aim: To study Digital Signal Processing Kit (TMSC6713).

Objective: Familiarization with digital signal processing kit(TMSC6713).

System Requirements: PC having Code Composer Studio 3.1, DSPLab2.0, DSP KitTMSC6713.

Theory:

Key Features: The C6713 DSK is a low-cost standalone development platform that enablesusers to evaluate and develop applications for the TI C67xx DSP family. The DSK also serves asa hardware reference design for the TMS320C6713 DSP. Schematics, logic equations andapplications notes are available to ease hardware development and reduce time to market.

The DSK comes with a full complement of on-board devices that suit a wide variety ofapplication environments. Key feature includes:

1. A Texas Instruments TMS320C6713 DSP operating at 225 MHZ.2. An AIC23 stereo codec.3. 16 Mbytes of synchronous DRAM.4. 512 Kbytes of non-volatile Flash memory.

5. 4 user accessible LEDs and switches.6. Software board configuration through registers implemented in CPLD7. Configurable boot options.8. Standard expansions connectors for daughter card use.9. JTAG emulation through on-board JTAG emulator with USB host interface or external

emulator10. Single voltage power supply (+5V).

Functional overview of the TMS320C6713 DSK:

The DSP on the 6713 DSK interfaces to on-board peripherals through a 32 bit wide EMIF. TheSDRAM, Flash and CPLD are all connected to the bus.

The DSP interface to analog audio signals through an on-board AIC23 codec and four 3.5 mmaudio jacks.

J6,Optional Power connector:

Connector J6 is an optional power connector .It will operate with a standard personnal computer

power supply.Misslaneous Connector:

The C6713 DSk has 3 additional connector to aid the user in developing with this product.

J201, USB Connector:

Connector J201 provides a universal serial bus interface to ht e embedded emulation logic on theDSK.This allows for code development and debug without the use of an external emulator .

J8,External JTAG Connector:

The TMS320C6713 DSK is supplied with a 14 pin header interface,J8.This is the standardinterface used by JTAG emulators to interface to Texas instruments DSPs.

JP3,PLD Programming Connector:

This connector interfaces to the Altera CPLD,U12 . It is used in the factory for the programmingof the CPLD.This connector is not intended to be used outside the factory.

System LEDs:

The TMS320C6713 DSK has 4 system light emitting diodes . These LEDs indicates variousconditions on the DSK.

Reset Switch:

There are three rests on the TMS320C6713 .The first reset is the power on reset. This circuitwaits until power is with the specified range before releasing the power on reset pin to theTMS320C6713.

Conclusion: we are able to perform the various signals with digital signal processing(DSP) kitTMSC6713.
