PROPOSED OUTCOME

SkyEdge proposes a 3-year plan to build excellent practical skills for students in Bangalore by setting up tinkering

labs. In the proposed plan, we consider a holistic 3 level learning approach for the students implemented as

follows:

a) Each student from Grade V will get a DIY Electronic STEM Kit student pack in the first year of implementation

in 2018. And students graduating to Grade V from Grade IV will get a DIY Electronic STEM Kit and students from

Grade VIII till Grade XII will further get a STEM kit in their second and third year of study on Arduino

Programming and Robotics in 2019 and 2020 respectively. Learning outcome Level 1: This kit will enable

the first level of experiential learning with the students as an edutainment and create enthusiasm among them

and help them with hands on learning and troubleshooting skills. Student does the projects as listed in the

exhaustive project documentation made available with the kit.

b)In addition, we propose that STEM Tinkering Lab with Education Pack to be set up in each school in Bangalore,

promoting community culture, creativity and providing higher level of learning to the 42,000 students who

received STEM Kits. Learning outcome Level 2: The STEM Tinkering Labs under the required guidance of

the teachers in the schools will enable students to understand the logic and concept behind each and

every project. This will be a guided learning approach as per the lesson plan, audio-visual and

documentation provided by SkyEdge. Also the projects done in level 1 are supplemented with additional

learning with experiments and activities as listed in the exhaustive project documentation made available

with the kit.

Learning outcome Level 3: As a blended approach to self-learning beyond classrooms and guided

learning in the schools, the students will get the maximum benefit and mileage. This will kindle the spirit

of innovation and entrepreneurship amongst the students at all levels.

SkyEdge Support: SkyEdge will also also provide train the trainer program with a lesson plan to ensure that each

school has appropriate technical and curriculum support.

SkyEdge will also analyze the learning data from the students and provide reporting to the Ministry of Education

in Bangalore on the students' capabilities and progress. SkySTEM Kits are developed by industry professionals

and are validated across the globe.

We understand the important vision the Government of Bangalore has towards empowering the youth and

students with this initiative. Being a high quality, technology-driven tool to bridge the gap between theory and

practical, SkyEdge STEM Kits certainly will help all the students get the required competency in the subjects of

Science and Math by their practical manifestation in Engineering and Technology.

Learning Hours and Impact

The product needs a 100 hours of hands on project building. Though the duration can vary depending on the

aptitude and attitude of the student. However, students are encouraged to limit study time on any particular

week to maximum 2 projects. The greatest determinant of success is consistency of practice. If a person uses

SkySTEM Kit for 1 hour a day and 2 days in a week, they should notice improvement in as little as 2 weeks.

Students will also double their project building proficiency in 10-20 hours of working.
