TECHNICAL DIRECTOR (CREATION 2018) Contractual, full time position following the tour schedule and company’s activities. Duration: 1 year minimum, possibility of extension. Start of employment: June to mid-August 2018 during the creation period in Montreal and touring afterward. Remuneration: flat fee and hourly rate depending on the company's activities and experience. JOB DESCRIPTION The technical director of a Cirque Éloize touring show manages all the show’s operations and technical departments during pre-production, load in and load out operations, and during performances of touring shows. You will also be responsible for a technical department of the show (specialty to be determined depending on your profile). MAIN TASKS In collaboration with the heads of different departments, ensure the respect, maintenance and adaptation of the original technical concepts of the show; Produce plans and production schedules for each theatre space and distribute them; Coordinate all technical operations from the entrance to the exit of the theatre; Supervise the show’s local and touring technical teams and manage calls and schedules; Actively participate in the department’s loading and unloading operations; **Act as a department head and oversee the operations of a technical department for the show in combination with the position of technical director (to be defined according to your profile). MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Training in stage technique or equivalent experience, and touring experience; Spoken and written bilingualism (French, English), third language an asset; Knowledge of circus arts an asset; Ability to integrate show’s technical plans into theater’s plans; Knowledge of drawing software (AutoCAD); and core Office Suite programs an asset; Availability of day, evening and weekend; No restriction to travel regularly abroad for long periods. REQUIRED QUALITIES Ability to work in a dynamic environment under pressure; Good leadership and artistic sensitivity; Versatile, independent, meticulous and thorough.
