Solution to "mirror" image problem on Touch Screen 700 WTV models
The cause of the inverted "mirror" images displayed on WTV Touch screen models has been
identified as oxidation of the contacts on the connector of the LCD controller board.
More specifically, as the figure below shows, the controller board was fixed to the back of the
LCD using silicone, which in certain cases resulted in oxidation of the connector contacts over
time, producing the above described effect.
To correct the problem, remove all the white silicone from the connectors and clean the
contacts using an ordinary oxidation inhibitor for electronic circuits, before reconnecting the
board.
A small amount of silicone can be used to make the connection more secure,
but should be carefully applied on the side of the circuit board, ensuring it
does not go on the connector.
New SW version for 500i and 500iSP ARM
It is version 50.9.2, available in the 9 standard languages.
The main changes introduced with this version are:
1. Added a function for saving the "Average Watts" value to TGS key in Custom or Manual
training sessions.
2. Added a new message to the custom group of those displayed during the stand-by state:
“Want to know more about wellness? www.technogym.com”;
3. Fixed the bug which, when a Custom interval training session was added to a key after
having already used that same key to perform another session on the same machine (for
example a GOAL mode training session), caused the values of each Custom interval step to
overwrite the data saved for the preceding session.
WHEN TO UPGRADE ALREADY INSTALLED MACHINES: if any of the
above problems are observed.

2. Corrected the bug which, following entry of the data for a CPR exercise, caused the "Put on chest strap" message to continue scrolling on the display without showing the heart rate
value. At the start of a CPR exercise, if the machine failed to detect the user's heart rate it
would in fact display the "Put on chest strap" message, but if the exercise was
subsequently started upon receiving the signal, the message would continue to scroll
without however showing the value of the heart rate.
WHEN TO UPGRADE ALREADY INSTALLED MACHINES: if any of the
above problems are observed.
New SW version for 700 WTV touch screen NCB
It is version 9.93.9, available in the 10 standard languages.
The main modification in this version is the introduction of a “Screen saver” mode, activated
after the machine has remained idle for a pre-established time without any key being pressed,
consisting of either a full-screen display of the scrolling message “Touch the display to start” in
the language configured via the user menu, or alternatively of a completely blank screen.
• If the language setting is US English, the scrolling message is shown in English and
Spanish.
• If the machine is programmed in the special "multi-language" mode for hotel use, the
message is shown in all the languages.
To exit the “Screen saver” mode, simply touch the display or insert a TGS key. The machine
will automatically revert to the display mode it was in prior to activation of the screen saver.
For the purposes of this new operating mode, two new items have been added to the technical
menu:
a. Screen saver: The screen saver can be configured for either a “Message” or
“Darkness”; choosing the former will activate a scrolling message in full-
screen TV mode, while the latter will display a completely dark screen.
The default setting is “Message”.
b. Waiting time: It is possible to configure the amount of time the machine will wait before
activating the screen saver.
The default setting is 10 min.
ATTENTION Do not change the default setting.

Fixing of pulley on front roller
To prevent the screws securing the pulley on the drive roller from working loose, resulting in
noise and irregular movement, small Belleville washers, indicated with the number 1 in the
figure below, have now been introduced in place of the preceding washers. The Belleville
washers must be used in pairs on each of the 3 fixing screws, assembling them as shown in
the box in the figure.
The order codes for the components indicated in the figure are given in the table below. The
code for ordering the complete drive roller assembly is unchanged, and indicated in the
exploded drawings.
Ref. CODE DESCRIPTION Qty.
1 0K000497AA Belleville washer 6
2 0Z104 Screw M6x20 3
3 0U000086AC Pulley 1
Do not over-tighten the pulley fixing screws; it is sufficient to use a torque
wrench setting of 5 Nm, after applying a drop of Loctite thread compound to
each screw.
Check the tightness of the screws after any maintenance actions, and check
the state of wear of the pulleys, replacing them when necessary.
New belt
There is a new belt available that differs from the preceding ones as follows:
• The "Wellness in motion" logo is laser printed rather than screen printed.
• The seam has been modified for improved durability.
The order code of the new belt is 0K000221AB.

Image persistence on LCD: "ghost" image
Corrected the problem of image persistence on the LCD display, which caused the images of
certain keys of the virtual keyboard to remain "impressed" on the LCD even when in TV mode.
This phenomenon, also known as "ghost image", occurred whenever the display was left
showing a fixed image for a few hours.
To prevent the problem from recurring, install SW version 10.93.9 or higher for Wellness TV
Touch Screen NCB machines, and SW version 20.93.9 or higher for Wellness TV Touch Screen
UB machines, which incorporate a screen saver function.

New 65W brake boards for 500i, 700i and 700iE WTV models
A new brake interface board has been introduced on the 500i, 700i and 700iE mains-
powered machine models (not usable on self-powered machines). The new board has
been re-engineered to optimize the layout of the connectors and is interchangeable with the
preceding one.
It uses SW version 127 and braking table 104, both available for download from the
Technogym Direct website.
This board can be obtained with order code W0004475AB, and is supplied pre-programmed.

New SW version for brake board
The new SW version 127 is now available which implements some improvement to the
management of the machine, and can be used on all models of the board currently on the
market.
“Want to know more about wellness? www.technogym.com”;
New SW version for 700i and 700iSP ARM
It is version 50.7.4, available in the 9 standard languages.
The main changes introduced with this version are:
1. Fixed the bug which, when a Custom interval training session was added to a key after
having already used that same key to perform another session on the same machine (for
example a GOAL mode training session), caused the values of each Custom interval step to
overwrite the data saved for the preceding session.
It is version 8.93.9, available in the 10 standard languages.

New primary shaft
Following a re-engineering of the product, the entire primary shaft assembly has been
modified to adapt it to the new machine configuration. The new assembly does not alter the
operating principle in any way, except for a different spacing between the holes on the bridge

bearings mounted externally on the shaft, used for fixing the assembly on the frame, which
makes it non-interchangeable with the preceding solution.
For this reason, the exploded drawings of the machine include both solutions, as a function of
the machine serial number, and all the components of the old assembly will continue to be
available as replacement parts.
New levers
Two new structural metal levers have been developed to replace the precision-cast levers used
previously.
The new levers differ principally in their central portion, which uses a different method for
fixing the plate with stud bolts that connects to the tie rods. More specifically, as illustrated in
the figure below, the old levers had two bearings mounted on the central portion, upon which
the pin fixed to the stud bolt plate rotated, whereas the new levers have a pin fixed directly to
the central portion and the bearings are assembled on a "triangular" plate (see figure below).
The new levers are not completely interchangeable with the old ones due to the following:
• It is not possible to replace only one of the two levers: both must be replaced to obtain
uniformity between the two solutions.
• Replacing the levers also requires replacing the two plates with stud bolts, used for
connection of the various tie rods, and illustrated in the figure below.
• The method for fixing the rear shock absorber has been changed, and now uses a through
screw and a corresponding self-locking nut, as illustrated below.

Misalignment between counter-pulley and pivoting pulleys:
additional information
Following up on the information given in the last TN, concerning the solution to the belt
dragging against the counter-pulleys "A" indicated in the figure below, please note the
following additional elements for diagnosing and correctly resolving this particular problem.
These are:
• Observe the edges of the belt in the stretch between the pulley "A" and the end that is
fixed to the front cam. In an advanced state of wear, the dragging edge will appear
deteriorated, with dusty residues of wear material also visible in any case.
Wave Excite TN 2007/01 - 15 January 2007
2007/01
page 5
Excite Line
• Observe whether the belt oscillates on the cogged gear during operation. Oscillation is a
clear indicator that pulleys "A" and "B" are misaligned.
After completing the procedure for correcting the problem, check once again that the belt
does NOT OSCILLATE on the cogged pulley.
In the event that the pulley "A" is replaced by one with off-centre bearing,
check that the new pulley does not drag against the frame.

New SW version for 700 WTV touch screen NCB
It is version 9.93.9, available in the 10 standard languages.
The main modification in this version is the introduction of a “Screen saver” mode, activated

consisting of either a full-screen display of the scrolling message “Touch the display to start” in
the language configured via the user menu, or alternatively of a completely blank screen.

New levers for Delts handles
The levers used on the arms of the Delts machine, for adjustment of the easy start position,
are now made from a different material to eliminate problems with rusting.
The codes for ordering the new levers are 0N000171AC for the left lever and 0N000190AC
for the right lever.
The SN of the first machine incorporating this modification is: M99306000083.
New pulleys for Abductor / Adductor levers
The new models of pulleys used on the Abductor / Adductor levers are now available.
The new components are fully interchangeable with the old ones, but constructed from a
stronger material to prevent them breaking when the machine is used at full load.
The order codes for the pulleys have been changed as indicated in the table below:

Prevention of cable slippage on Pectoral machine
A new solution has been incorporated into the machine to better prevent cable slippage from
the cams. The new solution, illustrated in the figure below, can also be applied to already-
installed machines by ordering and installing the upgrade kit with code R0004527AA.
If the weight stack plates are not selectable...
We have noticed that difficulty in selecting the weight stack plates is often caused by a
misalignment between the holes on the weight stack cross and those on the plates themselves,
and can be easily corrected using 0G000124 rubber rings, to be placed between the plates
and the spacer bushings, as shown in the figure below.

New seat support for P920 Adjustable Bench
To facilitate use of the machine and prevent the friction between the seat and backrest from
causing deterioration of the padding materials, a new seat support has now been introduced
which keeps the paddings of these two sections separate.
As shown in the figure above, the new support, which can be ordered using code
0D002928AB-#, with the # character replaced with the colour variant, has 8 holes: for fixing
the seat, use the 4 holes indicated in the figure.

Some modifications have been made to the pistons used on the machines, with a view to
significantly improving both functionality during exercise and reliability.
The principal differences, compared with the preceding solution are:
• Adoption on all the machines of a new piston, which can be distinguished from the old
model by the presence of a new adjusting ring that has only 5 positions (-2 to 0 to +2)
rather than the preceding 9.
• The new adjusting ring is constructed so that it cannot be rotated outside of the pre-
established positions, as this could cause the jamming of the ring.
• A different factory setting of the piston used on the ABODMINAL/BACK, which reduces by
50% the resistance exerted against the contraction movement, compared with the
preceding setting. The setting for resistance to the extension movement is instead
unchanged.
• A different factory setting of the piston used on the ADDUCTOR/ABDUCTOR, which
increases by 50% the resistance exerted against both the contraction and extension
movements.
The table below details the codes for the new pistons for all the various machines.

New adjustable foot
The rear adjustable foot has been modified in order to considerably simplify the machine
leveling procedure.
The new foot is fully interchangeable with the old one, and can be obtained by ordering the
components illustrated in the figure below:
Ref. DESCRIPTION CODE
1 Pin 0P001005AA
2 Foot body 0G000923AA
3 Foot support 0G000924AA
4 Dowel M8x16 0Z708
Below are the detailed instructions for carrying out the machine leveling operation.
1. Back off the grub screw securing the adjustable foot using a 3-mm hex wrench, as
illustrated in the figure.
2. Rotate the lower part of the adjusting foot in a clockwise or anticlockwise direction until the desired height for leveling the machine is obtained.

3. Lock down the grub screw backed off previously in step 1. 4. Rotate the top portion a of the adjusting foot until the gap x between the two halves of the
foot is eliminated.
5. Bring the treadmill to the exercise position and check the stability of the machine by
getting on it and setting the elevation to both 0% and then 12%. All 4 wheels and the 2
rear feet must rest correctly on the ground at all times. If this is not the case, proceed as
follows:
a. Bring the machine to the horizontal position: 0% elevation.
b. Remove the plastic cap from one of the two rear cams.
c. Back off the screw b, using an 8-mm hex wrench.
d. Rotate cam c using the special tool provided, until the wheel touches the ground.
e. Lock down the screw b, holding the cam in place.

Malfunctioning with appearance of a blue screen
The machine malfunctions resulting in a complete lockout condition with the appearance of a
blue screen have been attributed to problems of various types, connected with both the HW
components and the SW management.
If the above situation occurs, it is necessary to replace the entire display assembly by ordering
code R0002950AA.
ATTENTION: In the event that the entire assembly is replaced, please contact the
Technogym call center [email protected] to arrange for the
return of the damaged display.
The first machines produced with this modification have SN:

Solution to "mirror" image problem
The cause of the inverted "mirror" images has been identified as oxidation of the contacts on
the connector of the LCD controller board.
