TeacherEase Parent Portal
What is TeacherEase?● TeacherEase is the district’s online gradebook.● TeacherEase has a teacher, student, and parent portal.
What do I use if for?● Check students’ progress in classes
○ Check scores on assessments○ Check missing assignments○ View mid-terms and report cards from previous report cards○ Receive/send emails about classwork
● A welcome email from Teacherease was sent at the beginning of the school year.
○ Parents must have an email account on file with school to be able to have a Teacherease account.
○ If you need a welcome email resent, please contact your school’s main office.
○ If you had an account last year, please use same login information.
● Parents with multiple children in district will use one login to see all children’s information.
Parent Login Procedures
● After clicking on link from welcome email, it will ask you to create a password.○ For any future logins, you will go to
teacherease.com and login with email address and new password.
On first login, it will bring you to “Update Profile” page:
● Choose preferred language and click Save

Main Page
Feed: Any new items posted by any of the teachers
Quick Links: Shortcuts to most features you will use
Agenda/Calendar: Upcoming events (days off, assignment due dates, etc)
Most Useful Quick LinksClass: View classes enrolled in and link to standard based scores for each
Assignments: View all formative and summative assignment details and scores.
Grades: View current summative grades and link to standard based scores
Send Email: Send email to any of your instructors (check your bsd2g Gmail account for received emails)
Report Card: View report cards from previous trimester
Assignments Page● Click “Assignments” quick link or go to
“Academics” tab● Adjust the ‘Class’ and ‘Mode’ filters to view your
assignments.
● Click on the assignment name to see assignment details and score.
Class Page● Click “Classes” quick link or go to “Academics”
tab● List of classes you are enrolled in
○ If some are listed twice, these are the classes you have split before & after lunch. One will have all grades, and you can ignore other.
● Click on the down arrow next to a class and click “Standard Grades” to open up standard-based grades page for that class (see details about standard-based grades page on slide 9)
Grades Page● Click “Grades” quick link or go to “Academics” tab● You will see all of your classes listed● A progres bar and details button will appear next to
classes that have at least one summative score entered.
○If there is no “details” button that means thereare no summative scores yet, but check “assignments page” for formative scores
● Click “Details” button● Click at bottom to view scores in a
list view by assignmentby learning target

Scores● Any blue arrow pointing right can be
expanded to show assignments that assess that standard
● Only summative scores affect overall score, not formatives
○ Summatives- assess level of learning at the end of a unit■ Ex. Tests, Projects
○ Formatives-assess learning as a unit progresses. Teachers use formatives to adjust their teaching to fit student needs. Practice only!■ Ex. Exit tickets, HW, discussions.
● Overall scores can change throughout trimester (can get higher or lower)
Mode of the three most recent summative scores. If there is no mode or there is less than three summatives, then overall score shown is most recent summative score.
Formative scores do not get calculated into overall score.
Send Email Page● Click “Send Email” quick link or go
to “Communicate” tab
● Select teacher that you would like to send an email to.
● Complete email subject and message
● Click “Send”
● Any responses to email will appear in your bsd2g account
Report Card Page● Shows PDF of most recent
report card○ Mid term progress reports have
been eliminated and will no longer appear.
● Click “view” next to the report you want to view○ PDF will be displayed
Reminders● Formative and summative scores are recorded in Teacherease
○ Formative assessments: Assignments used for practice as students learn new content. Teachers use formative assessments to guide instruction. (Examples: exit tickets, homework, discussions, etc.). These are not included into calculations for final report card grades.
○ Summative assessments: Assessments at the end of units to determine students’ understanding of concepts and skill attainment. (Examples: tests, final projects, etc.)
● Teacherease does not have all scores○ Not all teachers report homework and classwork in TeacherEase, please contact individual
teachers with questions
● Overall scores can change○ Scores change (up and down) as new topics are introduced or topics are reviewed.
● Grading scale is a 4-point scale○ Formatives do not get calculated into final score
