THREE LEFT FEET MOVMENT CREATIONS

Teacher & Staff Professional Development Objectives Teacher and Staff participation gets everybody in the school moving.

Even if you have two left feet, THREE LEFT FEET believes every ‘body’ can dance! NOT JUST FOR STUDENTS! Three Left Feet is committed to building a sense of community in your school. During residencies we offer professional development for teachers and staff to enrich the experience for the whole school. The same Three Left Feet teachers who work tirelessly with your students will work with staff and teachers to achieve the following objectives: 1. Empathy for Students

i) Through undertaking a similar program to that of their students, staff and teachers gain understanding and context for the success of their students, and the challenges they overcome during the residency.

ii) Teachers and staff experience performing, and witness their students’ enthusiastic and supportive response.

iii) Teachers and staff are able to set a positive example in terms of their approach and participation during the residency.

2. Self Expression

i) Staff and teachers are able to express and enjoy themselves during dance choreography, demonstrating that the most important thing about the Three Left Feet program is personal expression.

ii) Teachers and staff set the example of life long learning, by facing new challenges and demonstrating their success.

iii) Staff and teachers execute physical shapes, dynamics and timing within this context.

When school staff and teachers perform for their students, they are met with roaring cheers and thunderous applause. Three Left Feet likes to save this treat for the last day of the residency, and to keep it a surprise! Make sure you don’t let the secret out!
