ConceptThe name ‘Elletea’ (pron. Eh-lee-tee) is very personal

to me. Elle can be a shortened version of Elise which is my middle name, and also the name of my best friend.

It can also be a shortened version of Elizabeth which is the name of our royal Queen and the name of my favourite fiction character Elizabeth Bennet. It could also be seen as a part of the word ‘Elegant’ which is

what I want my packaging to reflect.

I have always loved the diamond shape because of the interesting geometric shapes and lines it has. I believe a diamond has multiple world wide meanings. Mainly diamonds are seen as beautiful, expensive, rare, royal,

and elegant objects. I also love the fact that diamonds have to go through the fire to come out shiny and

sparkling. They are used to make things beautful. Diamonds also have many facets which I believe can

be related to tea and how they are many flavours and different ways of having tea. I hope to portray these meanings in my choice of tea packaging and name.

ProcessI chose to make my tea packaging out of cardboard to maintain the diamond shape. The cardboard allows the package to stand in any way the customer desires, and to be handled and packaged in an easy way. The customers can also reuse the packages as decoration once they have emptied out the contents, or choose to recycle them. I have used silver textured paper as part of my design. This will add texture and depth to the packaging, allowing it to be more unique and beautiful.

Logo DesignThe elegant scripted typography matches the elegant appearance of the diamond packaging. The typography is flowing and gentle which is how I want the viewer to feel upon viewing and purchasing my product. The logos also include the same diamond shape to link them back to the packaging. I have hand drawn the writing and logos to create a simple hand made yet elegant overall appearance.

Earl GreyI chose to use a dark blue for my flavour of Earl Grey to tie in with the Royal theme. It is a beautiful colour that compliments a lot of other colours. This blue is soft and calm, which I hope reflects how the viewers feel upon

purchasing it. Although real diamonds are a clear/white colour, often a blue tinge can be seen through the

transparent stone.

RooibosI believe yellow is a happy and bright colour that stands

out. I want my viewers to see my packaging straight away and to feel a sense of happiness upon viewing it. I also chose yellow because it is complementary to blue. Rooibos is also my favourite tea flavour and so I wanted

to pick a colour that I loved.

LavenderNot only is purple my favourite colour but it is also a colour that can symbolise Royalty. This is exactly

how I want the customer to feel upon viewing and purchasing my product. Like blue, purple is tranquil and soft which is how I want my customers to feel. I

also wanted to reflect the packaging with the flavour of the tea, hence having a purple package for Lavender.
