2. Installation

1. Remove the top panel from the tailgate.

2. Remove the screw from the handle pocket on the tailgate.

3. Remove the side panels from the tailgate.

4. Unplug the original lock button connector to input our t-harness.

5. Route the lock wiring as shown in the photo.

6. Remove the OE springs and re-install the powered struts. OE mounting and ball joints are re-used.

7. Holes will need to be drilled in the body to run the wiring for the powered struts. The cablingdoes have grommets to provide a water tight seal. Measure out the wiring and grommet and becareful to drill in a safe location away from any other wiring inside the vehicle. ½ inch startinghole is suggested.

8. Above is the mounting location in the tailgate for the brain. It is in the middle of the tailgate. Also find a good location in the tailgate for the buzzer. Buzzer attaches with double side tape. Allwiring will need to be ran to this location through the tailgate and the boot of the tailgate from in the vehicle.

9. Route the wiring for the power through the boot of the tailgate using a threading tool.

10. Run the wiring to the front of the vehicle for the remained of connections.

11. Place the provided t-harness in-line with the current t-harness.

12. Use the provided power clamp the clamp onto power at the fuse box. Assemble the clamp asshown in the picture around the power wire.

13. Use the provided hole saw to drill a hole for the front button and mount it using the providedhardware.

14. Use the provided hole saw to drill a hole for the rear button and mount it using the providedhardware.

15. Before re-assembly, test for proper function.16. Re-assemble vehicle.
