Project Hitless Redundancy in board controller software for Alcatel ISS switch.
Period 8 Months (May 2007 – Feb2008)
Description
Hitless Redundancy is an enhancement feature type project by which we provide a redundant standby setup of a board(ISAM NT) in Alcatel ISS switch such that, it can take over all the activities of regulating traffic immediately in case the active ISAM NT goes down or crashes. The term ‘Hitless’ is used to refer to the fact that none of the peers connected to the ISAM notice the switch since it will take place in sub one second and only minimal of the protocol and data traffic will be lost in the hardware. In short, data traffic interruption is minimal as a result of the switch.
Roles Underwent the complete software lifecycle beginning
from design, coding, testing of this feature.
Languages & OS
C, MS Windows 2000/XP.
Protocols VLAN, Link Aggregation.(Broadcom chipset)
Project/Client Port Changes for new board for Alcatel ISS switch.
Period 2 Months (Mar 2008 – Apr 2008)
DescriptionThis project involved changes in the L2/L3 LANX software for Alcatel ISS switch to handle increase in physical ports from 24 to 28.
Roles Identifying the modules affected by the change,
analyzing the impact, design, coding level changes to implement the feature.
Languages & OS
C, MS Windows 2000/XP.
Project/Client Swirl Traffic Generator for client Alcatel.
Period 2 Months (May 2008 – June 2008)
ProductThis board porting project involved changes in the L2/L3 LANX software for Alcatel ISS switch to make the ordinary switch act as traffic generator leading to huge cost savings.

Project Details(during Engineering graduation):1 .Mini-Project Details: Wireless data transmission and its applications
The project incorporates the use of transmitter and receiver ICs which accomplishes the wireless transmission (infra-red) of 4-bit data sequence up to a range of 6-8 metres. Wireless communication between two computers has been done using 8255 interfacing.
2. Major project: Residual Excited Linear Prediction (RELP) of Speech and Isolated Word Speech Recognition in Matlab
a) In RELP encoder and decoder algorithms for reading and reconstructing wav files using features extracted with Levinson Durbin algorithm were implemented in Matlab.
b) In isolated word speech recognition set of five words spoken by twenty people were recognized using minimum distance rule on cepstral coefficients. First a database of an average set of cepstral coefficients for each of the words was prepared in Matlab. Next cepstral coefficients for each of the word spoken was found out and compared with those in database. Spoken word was classified into one of the five words based on minimum distance rule.
