The Village Associa- tion of Batavia will pres- ent the 10th annual Taste of Clermont in Batavia on Friday, Au- gust 9th and Saturday, August 10th, 2013. The event will be held along Main Street from 5:00 PM - 11:30 PM on Fri- day, and from 11:00 AM - 11:30 PM on Satur- day. “The Taste of Cler- mont is the major fundraiser for the Vil- lage Association of Batavia as well as other non-profit groups that participate.” said Terry Morris, president of the association. He said the profits from last year's Taste of Cler- mont funded a scholar- ship to the University of Cincinnati Clermont; and four Facade Restoration Grants for buildings on Batavia's Main Street. Expected future interests include funding to bring enter- tainment and art to the area, and supporting local charities. The Vil- lage Association of Batavia is a non-profit 501C3 organization. Live local music will be one of the main at- tractions at the Taste. This year's headliner's feature is Archer at 9:15 PM on Friday, and Dan Varner Band at 9:15 PM on Saturday. Gary Farmer, who organized the music performance, said, "All the music is from local bands and soloists. The music will cover everything from rock to pop to country to bluegrass and will be performed nonstop on both days. It should be a great show of talent! Everyone should come out and listen!" For a completed list of artists, go to www.tasteofcler- mont.com There will also be a variety vendors and food booths, a Kids Zone which will feature a petting zoo, games, a Home Depot craft area, and other activities. Penelope the Clown will be making balloon ani- mals! On Friday, there will be a motorcycle show from 5:00 PM – 8:30 PM; and a Corn Hole Tournament (the Midwest Cornhole Tour “Southern Ohio”) start- ing at 7:00 PM at the corner of 2nd & Main The tournament will continue again on Sat- urday at 1:00 PM. Sat- urday winners will qualify for a state wide sanctioned tournament to be announced later in the fall. (see website for details and up- dates). Also, on Satur- day, there will be a car show from 5:00 PM – 8:30 PM. Both days will feature an Art Show of posters from the Taste of Clermont Poster Competition and many interesting vendors. New to the Taste this year is our first annual Rib Cook-off! The grill lightings will start at 7:00 AM on Saturday, August 10th and judg- ing will take place at 2:00 PM (see website for details). will feature some new twistsin addition to popular activi-ties and entertainment fromprevious years including avariety of local musical en-tertainers, an art show, foodand shopping vendors, a mo-torcycle show, a car show, acorn hole tournament, a Kid-Zone, a petting zoo, andmore. “The Taste of Clermont is

local food vendors will bescattered along Main Streetselling pulled pork, pizza,watermelon, kettle corn,lemonade, funnel cakes, andmuch more. Shopping vendors will

also be selling their productsalong Main Street. “The Taste of Clermont is
