FILM INDUSTRY The film industry involves producing and distributing movies. The nature of

the film industry means production companies are set up for a particular production and then close down when production is complete.

An example of a company within the film industry is Paramount Pictures. Paramount Pictures Corporation is responsible for producing and distributing many film and often television programmes worldwide.

Some of the companies most famous films are “Ghost” starring famous

actors Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore in 1990. Another example is the film “Saving Private Ryan” a war film which stars Tom Hanks based in World War II.

RADIO INDUSTRYThe radio industry is a term for companies involved with the broadcast of a

radio station.

An example of a company within the radio station is the BBC. The BBC own a

variety of different radio stations such as BBC Radio1 and BBC Radio1Xtra.

The company also own sports, comedy and news based radio stations.

A different company in the radio industry is Ofcom. This organisation

regulates radio sectors as well as other media like TV and postal services.

The organisation makes sure that people in the UK get the best from their

communications services.

TELEVISION INDUSTRY The television industry is one of the most popular forms of entertainment and

information, with the average British viewer still watching twenty hours or

more per week.

The television industry involves creating and distributing different TV

programmes.

An example of a company within the television industry is BBC, which is one

of the most popular companies within the television industry today and is

developing more and more.

PRESS The press generally refers to print media such as newspapers and

magazines. As many people no longer get their news from newspapers, the

term "press" will probably migrate to mean all major media sources. An example of the press can include magazines like OK! which is a

weekly British magazine specialising in celebrity news. It features exclusive news, pictures and interviews from around the world.

Another company within the press industry is onlineprnews.com which features press releases and information which is a great source of primary and secondary data.
