PROMOTING & PERPETUATING THE ART OF QUILTING
President – Beth Medeiros Road Trip!!!!!
If you are interested in signing up for the caravan headed to the
Pineapple Fabric Outlet in Archdale, NC, please contact Barbara
Jackson. The Outlet has everything from pre-cuts to wide-back fabrics.
We are headed to the sale on 5 Aug; the drive is about two hours. A
quick story for you; I love to go on road trips to frequent fabric shops.
Every time my travel partner in crime, Mary Dane and I hit the road, it
is always an adventure. We don’t get lost we just see parts of the State
we didn’t know existed!!! Without fail it rains, so be sure to pack an
umbrella and be ready for a fun time!
I would like everyone to take just a moment to remember Dot Atchley;
she absolutely loved to make and deliver baby quilts to the NICU and
had such a wonderful wit. She will be missed.
Finally, don’t forget about the “Boys of Summer” baby quilt challenge
for July. I cannot wait to see what everyone creates!!!
The cafeteria (room where we meet) will be under renovation for the next two months. We will be meeting on the opposite side of the facility in the gymnasium. If anyone is interested in demonstrating hand sewing at the Carver's Creek Festival in October, please let me know.

PROMOTING & PERPETUATING THE ART OF QUILTING
VA Quilt Coordinator By: Cindy Clifton
No one claimed the two unsigned quilts
donated for the VA at the May meeting.
We received 3 lovely quilts at the June
meeting. Those donating this month were:
Joy Cannady; MaryLou Dibling; Marlene
Brudvig.
This brings our total to 61
Baby Quilt Coordinator By: Mary Lou Dibling
What a wonderful response to a request for baby boy
quilts! Thirty quilts were donated in June by Marlene
Brudvig-5, MaryLou Dibling-4, Sana Moulder-4, Nancy
Moore, Gladys Pedigrew, Sonia Blue, Beth Medeiros,
Mary Dane, Mildred Davisand Akimi Simmons-each 2,
and Debbie Grace, Rhonda Gooding and Pat Paulson-
each 1. Many thanks to all. The total included 18
boys, 8 girls and two girl/boy twin sets.
On Tuesday, Virgie Baxley, Judi Fipps, Marlene
Brudvig and I enjoyed delivering 24 quilt to the NICU.
There were 15 boys and 9 girls in the nursery, along
with several parents who expressed ow much they
loved the quilt they received from our guild.
In July, we will have a challenge, Boys in Summer!!
There will be a prize for one maker of these quilts, as
well as perhaps for each maker of a baby boy quilt!!
Put on your thinking cap and make a boy quilt to bring
to the next meeting!! We have 45 girl quilts on hand
and only 27 boy quilts. That seems like a lot of boy
quilts, but only TEN of those are single quilt, the other
fifteen are multiples.
The estate of Harriet Creech donated $100.00
towards the baby Quilts. We thank them for their
kind and generous donation.
