Day 3 Moshi - Tarangire National Park (Approx. 120km Day)This morning travel from Moshi to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is one of Tanzania’s largest national parks and sanctuary for an unusually large elephant population. Majestic baobab trees are an interesting feature of the park. Animals concentrate along the Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent water supply in the area. There is a great diversity of wildlife including lion, leopard, cheetah and up to six thousand elephants. After checking into your camp for the night you may relax or enjoy your afternoon game drive.

Day 4 Tarangire – Lake Manyara National Park – SerengetiThis morning after breakfast travel to Lake Manyara National Park. Day 6 Serengeti National ParkYou have another full day in this wonderful park and your guide will choose the best spotting locations for the time of year. You can journey from the wide open plains to the kopjes, these volcanic rocky outcrops provide protection and shelter for a wide variety of animals and from the top we can look out across the vast grasslands of the Serengeti. Day 8 Ngorongoro Conservation Area – Lake Eyasi (Approx. 85km Day)Today you will journey into the heart of this amazing, wondrous crater. Ngorongoro is unique in that almost all the wildlife lives within the crater walls hence you have the opportunity to find game easily. Rhino can be seen regularly as well as prides of lion and cheetah. Enjoy a morning game drive and after lunch by the hippo pond, commence your drive to Lake Eyasi.

Day 9 Lake Eyasi – Moshi (Approx. 265km Day)Lake Eyasi is home to the hunter-gathers ethnic group of the Hadzabe Bushmen (they bear similar characteristics to those of Bushmen at Southern Africa). This indigenous tribe are probably the last living in true harmony with nature and are well known for their communication via clicking rather than speech. You will enjoy hunting with them and experiencing their way of life. During the afternoon, you will travel back to Moshi (Approx. a 5 hour drive).

CLIMATE & AVERAGE TEMPERATURE

Tanzania

From July to August, Tanzanias weather is generally the coolest, the sunniest and the driest. June is a good month almost everywhere, but in the north-east the long rains can linger on until this month. September is also a good month, but at lower elevations the days can be hot. In October, the season of the short rains begins in the north, though in the first half of the month there is usually little rain, however, it can get hot at low altitudes.

Zanzibar

Just south of the equator, Zanzibar’s weather pattern follows that of Tanzania very closely although always tends to be a little more humid and occasional rain in the dry season is less uncommon than in the heart of the mainland Tanzania. Generally the main rainy season, or the ‘long rains’, last during March, April and May. The humidity is high and daily temperatures reach the low-mid 30°s.The long dry season, when rainfall is fairly unusual, lasts throughout June, July, August, September and October. Temperatures vary hugely with altitude and location, but it’s usually fine, clear sky and sunny weather it’s a great time to visit Zanzibar. During November and December there’s another rainy season: the ‘short rains’. These are much lighter than the main rains and less reliable.

TOUR GUIDE VS. TOUR LEADER

Tour Guide:

Often locals with intimate knowledge of an area, its culture, and history. Their role entails providing commentary, routing the tour, and seeing that people have a good time. They are a licensed, qualified

expert who supplies specific information on history, art, architecture and culture of the city/village/attraction in which he or she is guiding the tour. The guide meets the group at the required place and leaves the group at the end of the tour, they do not travel with the group.

Tour Leader:

An experienced person tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of tours, as well as providing practical support to passengers throughout the whole trip. Their role primarily includes assisting with accommodation, transportation between locations, and communication with tour guides in each stop. A tour leader may provide general guidance around a city or village, and offer information on the place visited on the bus, however they are not required to have specific knowledge on art, architecture, or history. They are not allowed to provide a guided tour or commentary of a city/village/attraction once there and if caught doing so, can be fined.

Please note: Tour leaders/guides are not a standard inclusion in all TripADeal travel offers. Tour leaders/guides will only be made available when particularly required to enhance the experience of the destination featured.

LAND TOUR

Transportation:

Travelling around Africa a 4x4 vehicle will be used, with pop up roof so customers may stand and view the animals. Each vehicle has 6 client window seats, which recline. The vehicle comes with a fridge and power adaptors for charging cameras etc. Please note; in Tanzania, no vehicles are allowed off road, however there are so many animals in the Tanzanian parks, many are found close to the road and tracks used.

Meals:

For all meals not included in the tour, the tour leader (when available) will offer assistance with reservations, suggestions and directions to local restaurants. You can also enquire about any allergies and food and if necessary

advise meals to be to be prepared with any medication you require.

Luggage:

You will be responsible for all your personal belongings whilst on the tour. With regards to luggage, you must carry your own luggage from the coach to the hotel room and back to the coach. The driver will assist with the uploading and offloading of their luggage from the coach. The land operator suggests bringing backpacks or rucksacks where possible rather than hard suitcases as they will fit in the safari vehicle easier.

Gratuities:

Gratuities (tips) are not included in the tour price for services of the tour leader (when available) and driver throughout the tour. The recommended tip for the tour leader and driver whilst on Safari is $30-40 USD per vehicle per day (this is split between travellers in the vehicle at approx. $6 USD per person), which will be collected whilst on tour.

Fitness Level Required / Mobility:

Our vehicles are not equipped with wheelchair access, so unfortunately our tours are currently not suitable for wheelchair users and those less mobile.
