Tallahassee Elks Lodge #937 Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks ANTLERS DECEMBER 2015 MESSAGE FROM THE EXALTED RULER IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ: Since this is the time of year for giving, think about making a donation to the Harry-Anna Trust Fund and/or the Elks National Foundation. As a result of donations to the ENF by Florida lodges, the State Association has received additional funds from ENF and will now give each lodge six Elks Youth Camp camperships instead of the previous four. More donations to ENF will mean more funds to the state and possibly more camperships. Please call me for details on how you can participate. We have lots of things going on around the Lodge in December – poinsettia deliveries to the Elk widows, children’s Christmas party, eggnog social and New Year’s Eve party. See elsewhere in the Antlers for details. Thanks to Danny McElroy and his new crew, we will now be having Sunday breakfasts the second as well as first and third Sundays. As usual I am again appealing for volunteers. We still need a Chaplain as well as volunteers for bingo, cooking Sunday breakfasts and bingo food. Please let me know if you are interested in volunteering for any of these. Remember we are a volunteer organization and cannot continue to operate otherwise. Our partners and volunteers want to help you, your family, and our communities to stay safe by offering to install free smoke alarms to families who need them. In addition to alarm installations, a volunteer will work directly with you and your family to share tips on how to prevent a fire, complete a home safety checklist and help develop a fire escape plan.

This service is free of charge. If you think you, or someone you know, would benefit from receiving a smoke alarm, please reply with the information requested on the back.

As well as providing and installing smoke detectors free-of-charge, we will provide vital information about home fire preparedness and help the family develop an evacuation plan.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at 850-878-6080.

On average, people die and are injured every day in a home fire - working smoke alarms cut that risk in half.

Did you know that if a fire starts in your home, you may only have two minutes to escape?
