With the monies that the West-
field Memorial Library was re-
cently awarded through the
2016 Union County Board of
Chosen Freeholders Library
Grant, the Youth Services De-
partment was able to purchase a
Krayon Kiosk and Fable Learn-
ing, an e-book service for chil-
dren.
The Krayon Kiosk is an interac-
tive education and gaming sta-
tion for children two to eight
years old. Brightly colored and
resembling a large crayon, it
has four iPads mounted on four
sides, each filled with 50 educa-
tional apps designed for learn-
ing and exploration.
The kiosk is located in the
Youth Services Tech Corner.
The iPad apps include animated
storybooks, alphabet games,
puzzles, music, math games and
much more.
“We are all thrilled with this
new addition and expect it will
quickly become a popular spot
for children of all ages,” said
Molly Adams, head of Youth
Services. “It’s an excellent way
to incorporate technology, early
literacy and learning in a fun,
exciting manner.”
The Fable Learning Collection
focuses on delivering proven
mentor texts from authors
whose work educators know
and trust. The collection is
evenly divided between fiction
and nonfiction, and covers
Pre-K through 8th Grade.

This Piscataway, NJ, based group’s repertoire
includes numerous Doo-Wop favorites, all sung
in splendid harmony. Formed just a few years
ago, Re-MemberThen has quickly become one
of New Jersey’s doo wop acappella group rising
stars. Individually, the group’s members have
been singing all of their lives, though with dif-
ferent groups. As Re-MemberThen, they came
into their own at the 2011 Philadelphia Doo
Wop Festival, where they sang to a huge out-
door crowd at Penn’s Landing.
Since then, the group has appeared on WMTR-
AM’s Alan David Stein’s “Doo Wop Drive” ra-
dio show, also recording original jingles for the
program. They recently turned in a spectacular
performance on Monmouth University's Doo
Wop Explosion concert backing Larry Chance
of the Earls in an all acappella set as well as per-
forming on their own. Larry Chance even sang
as a “guest” on Re-MemberThen's recent CD.
At this show, Re-MemberThen will perform
“Remember Then,” (for which the group was
named), “Never” and “I Believe,” all by the
Earls; as well as songs made famous by The Ca-
dillacs, Little Anthony and the Imperials, The
Capris, The Five Satins and The Duprees. Some
of the songs you’ll be reminiscing to are
“Gloria,” “Two Kinds of People,” “There’s a
Moon out Tonight,” “To the Aisle” and “You
Belong to Me.” Sign up, sure to be a blast!

beating the finest thoroughbreds in

fatal accident. Nursed back to
health by the love of his owners, he
