Tai Mo ShanRotary CampSite

President Andy stumbled on this Tai Mo Shan Country Park Rotary Barbecue Site, which might not be to the knowl-edge of many Rotarians. Here is a brief account of the site:

Situated in the Tai Mo Shan Country Park (see map) which is fairly close to Twisk Road. Campers can bask in the lovely scents of nearby flow-ers such as Aglaia Odorata, Sweet Osanthus Flower and Micchelia Figo. The barbeque site straddles the campsite providing spacious activity area. The viewing point is and ideal location to enjoy an open view of Tsuen Wan and Tsing Yi. Facilities at the camp site include barbeque pits, benches and tables and drains.

Tai Mo Shan Country Park Visitor Centre comprises an exhibition gallery and an activity room. The Exhibition Gallery is composed of six themes which introduce Tai Mo Shan Country Park, climate change in global and local perspectives, the effect of climate change in local forests, ecosystem and the effect of climate change at polar regions. The Centre is designed to provide a self-learning platform and foster public awareness of nature conservation.

Our rotary family friend Alan Young’s daughter Stephenie and her partner Miuccia won a won-derful trip to Italy by writing an essay online. They made the trip before the epidemic and have filmed, edited and mixed a video to record their “...great-est memories .....made in the most unlikely of places, further proof that spontaneity is more rewarding than a meticulously planned life....” See it on YouTube,
