About TAG The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) is a membership organization dedicated to the promotion and economic advancement of the state’s technology industry. Our mission is to provide members with a rich and broad professional development curriculum and the opportunity to create strategic alliances. TAG provides leadership in driving initiatives that influence policy, capital, education, and giving, and we bring the technology community together through events, initiative programs, and networking opportunities. TAG was formed in 1999 with the merger of three of the state’s largest technology organizations: the Southeastern Software Association, the Business and Technology Alliance, and Women in Technology. Since its inception, TAG has been one of the largest technology organizations in the nation. Today, our 14,000+ membership includes thought leaders from technology companies both large and small, executives of FORTUNE 500 companies, investors, service providers, government and civic leaders, and entrepreneurs. The Technology Association of Georgia aims to build, connect, and enable; people, companies, and communities. Its 30 societies act as a distribution channel for TAG programs, offering over 170 meetings and seminars per year. TAG coordinates a series of meetings and events including the Featured Speaker Series, the Field Trip Series, and the Georgia Technology Summit. TAG expands its reach by fostering public and private partnerships with organizations such as the Atlanta Telecom Professionals, the MIT Enterprise Forum, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, and Georgia Department of Economic Development. In addition to adding value for its members, TAG’s Board of Directors, Leadership Council, and staff act as a primary catalyst for fostering a rich environment for technology growth in the State of Georgia. TAG endeavors to help Georgia’s technology companies speak with a strong voice. TAG serves as a liaison to Chambers of Commerce statewide and beyond to attract new businesses and prospective employers. The Association also keeps members informed concerning the legislative agenda affecting our industry. TAG, in collaboration with TechAmerica as their Georgia Council, actively promotes positive legislative change in Georgia that will advance our thriving technology community and drive statewide economic development.

The Technology Association of Georgia is pleased to announce the continuation of TAG Breakfast Series: Policy, Programs & Procurement. This program is structured to educate TAG members on the important functions of government and how it relates to their professions. The series is a great opportunity for Georgia's technology community to meet and network with prominent government officials and heads of agencies around the state. TAG members will not only hear about the important issues ongoing around the state, but they will also have the opportunity to share their own concerns/interests regarding the direction of state policy.

If you are interested in sponsoring the Breakfast Series, please contact Richie Johnson, [email protected].

Events and Special Programs

TAG initiated the Excalibur awards in 2005 to

recognize and call attention to Georgia’s

“tech-enabled” companies who demonstrate

exemplary competency in utilizing

technology to enhance their business.

We define a “tech-enabled” as a buyer of

technology as opposed to a producer. The

best of these companies find great ways to

use current and often times, disruptive technology to facilitate competitive advantage.

Every February, at the Georgia Technology Summit, TAG recognizes the achievements of

the top technology companies. Our Excalibur awards distinguish the people, departments

and companies, large and small, who are the recipients of such technologies.

The Excalibur award competition affords technology companies, consultants, Chambers of

Commerce and other institutions an excellent opportunity to nominate the companies that

understand the importance of technology, make the investment, and reap the rewards.

The Excalibur Awards is a morning

breakfast program that generally

takes place in the fall. This event

attracts over 300 attendees from

all over the state of Georgia.

The Excalibur Awards has been

privileged to host such great

keynote speakers as Matthew

Szulik, Chairman of Red Hat, Jim

Balsillie of RIM and Hal Lawton of

The Home Depot

There are 4 major ways to sponsor

the Excalibur Awards. In addition to

these opportunities, individual

tickets and table sponsorships are

also available.
