Centres of Excellence are a special feature of some TAFE NSW delivery locations, providing a world-class learning environment that is focused on a particular field. Featuring the latest industry standard equipment and expert staff, our Centres of Excellence include:

§ Sydney Coffee Academy: a modern, custom-designed specialist coffee and café training centre.

§ Sydney Wine Academy: an award-winning provider of world-class training for the hospitality and wine industry, as well as wine enthusiasts.

§ Design Centre, Enmore: home to many of Australia’s best-known design courses.

§ Equine Studies Centre, Richmond: serving the equine industry with specialised training including horse breeding, racing and trade courses in farriery and blacksmithing.

§ National Environment Centre: located outside Albury and offering specialist training in Civil Construction, Natural Resource Management, Water Operations, Permaculture, Organic Farming, environmentally related studies and sustainable agriculture.

§ Hunter Valley Hotel Academy: a state-of-the-art tourism and hospitality training facility that combines student learning and practical skill development with the daily workings of an Accommodation and Conference Centre.

§ Newcastle Maritime & Marine Engineering Centre: offering hands-on Marine Engineering and Maritime Operations training, utilising the latest technology.

§ The Transformational Technical Training Building (TTT): a Horticulture and Animal Science training centre in Yallah, built with sustainability at the core of all its functionality. The TTT facility aims to be one of the first projects in Australia to be certified under the Living Building Challenge (LBC) with net zero energy and water targets.

§ The Children’s Services Centre: a purpose-built Early Childhood Education facility in Shellharbour that provides an advanced training facility in the child care field, using the latest technology.

Fiji National University (FNU) is the largest and first national university in Fiji. With more than 1,600 staff, FNU specialises in technical and vocational training, with a focus on qualifications for real jobs, while providing pathways to higher qualifications.

TAFE NSW has been in partnership with the Fiji National Training and Productivity Centre (NTPC), now part of FNU, since 1998, offering a variety of Australian equivalent courses across various campuses, including qualifications in Business, Information Technology, Tourism and Hospitality.

GLOBAL ACADEMY OF TOURISM & HOSPITALITY EDUCATION(GATE), NEPAL

GATE is an award-winning Tourism and Hospitality academy in Kathmandu, Nepal. TAFE NSW is proud to have been partnering with them since 2015, via a benchmarking and recognition program for the Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (SIT30816).

INTI INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE PENANG, MALAYSIA

TAFE Digital is proud of its 15 year relationship with INTI International College. This partnership provides a cooperative distance delivery program of the TAFE NSW Accounting qualifications to Malaysian students, who can then pathway to further university study in both Malaysia and Australia. Training resources are customised for use in the INTI classrooms in Penang, and TAFE Digital teachers visit Malaysia regularly to provide on-going support and quality assurance of program delivery.

SHENZHEN POLYTECHNIC, CHINA

Shenzhen Polytechnic (SZPT) is a higher education institution approved by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China to deliver full-time technical and vocational education and training. Founded in 1993, SZPT today has four campuses and is recognised as the No 1 Polytechnic in China. In partnership with SZPT, TAFE NSW offers the Certificate IV in Marketing and Communication (BSB42415), Diploma of International Business (BSB50815), and Advanced Diploma of Marketing and Communication (BSB61315). The partnership has grown to include student competitions, a summer school program, and a visiting teacher program.

NINGBO CITY COLLEGE OF VOCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY/NINGBO FOREIGN AFFAIRS SCHOOL, CHINA

Since 2011, TAFE NSW has partnered with Ningbo City College of Vocational Technology (NCC) and Ningbo Foreign Affairs School (NBFAS) to jointly deliver pathway programs in English language studies and vocational qualifications. Successful students graduate with English language proficiency and Advanced Diploma qualifications, which pathway with advanced standing into Australian universities that recognise TAFE NSW qualifications.

Professional development opportunities for teaching staff from Australia and China has facilitated the exchange of training methodologies, and successful collaboration on course design.

STUDY TOURS

TAFE NSW can offer customised study tours on a wide range of subject areas. They can include any combination of English language and subject-specific classes, company and industry visits or cultural site visits.

TAFE NSW has a thorough understanding of the needs of different groups and will work closely with you to tailor a program to suit your specific requirements. English classes can be integrated into our regular classes with other international students. All programs include a comprehensive orientation session and access to our student support facilities.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS

Our professional development programs for delegations of trainers, industry personnel or government representatives blend training with industry visits and engagement with industry professionals.

We work with government agencies, international corporations, training providers and universities. Programs are customised to the learning and geographical needs of your workforce and can be delivered within the workplace for cost-effective, time-efficient professional development solutions.

TAFE NSW is a licensed provider of International Skills Training courses. These courses are designed by Australian industry experts and licensed by the Australian Government for delivery by quality Australian RTOs. They are tailored for flexible offshore delivery with an international context and will support the training of an international workforce by assisting other countries in growing their skills capacity.
