INTRODUCTION

SINCE 1943 THREE GENERATIONS of the Robbins Family haveowned and operated Robbins Auto Top Company. We began as anautomotive trim and upholstery shop and developed into a full scalemanufacturer of convertible Tops, Tonneau Covers, Glass and Plastic RearWindows and other products for convertibles. In April 2001, Robbinsmoved into a new 53,000 sq. ft. plant in Oxnard, CA. We look forward toproviding our customers with the highest quality products available formany years to come.

ROBBINS CONVERTIBLE TOPS feature distinctive styling, finecustom workmanship, and attention to detail. All Robbins convertibleTops, Tonneau Covers, Glass and Plastic Windows and other products arecut from precise, computer designed patterns, carefully tested in our ownR & D Installation Facility. Original factory designs are followed andimproved upon when necessary, by adding extra reinforcements orcomponents as part of our commitment to quality in manufacturing ourconvertible Tops. We use only the highest quality domestic and importedtoppings to manufacture our products, and we provide factory styleextrusions and components with our Tops. We Dielectrically Heatseal ourseams, primarily using film adhesives, but depending on the product’sdesign and the topping in which it is being made, thermo cementadhesives may also be used, as well as hot air welders; to obtain strongpermanent bonds. The solution dyed polyester black thread that we use tosew our products offers the highest resistance to fading of any threadavailable.

ROBBINS GLASS WINDOWS are made with the glass Heatsealed intovinyl and cloth toppings, in the manner Chrysler, Ford, General Motors and otherOE convertible manufacturer’s original glass windows are manufactured. Robbinsuses only first quality, full width toppings to make our Glass Window assembliesnever seconds or small pieces sewn together. We add extra reinforcements forstrength, and carefully finish our Glass Windows to provide quality, appearance andlong service life. We offer a limited number of Clear Glass Windows (many havebeen discontinued), as well as Tinted, or Tinted with Heater/Defroster GlassWindows to offer owners the same style Glass Window that was used as originalequipment on their convertible. While we cannot offer any warranty againstbreakage of Glass Windows since we have no control of whether convertibleowners will follow operating instructions contained in Owner’s Manuals, we do offera Three Year Warranty against failure of the lamination of our Glass, orworkmanship of the Window Assembly.

ALL GLASS WINDOWS HAVE BOTTOM COLOR TRIM TO MATCH TOP!We were awarded U.S. Patent 4,799,727 for our ROBBINS FLEX-HINGE®

extrusion we use in GL304 Folding Glass Window for 1964-70 Mustangand Cougar convertibles; as well as for non-original Glass Windowinstallations for 1967-70 Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebirdconvertibles. This is a superior design to factory original style windowssince our special hinge allows the glass to fold without stress as the top islowered into the well. We duplicate factory designs in our Glass RearWindows, and use all original style extrusions and components.

ROBBINS CONVERTIBLE TOPS, TONNEAU COVERS, GLASS andPLASTIC WINDOWS, TOP BOOTS, HEADLINERS and other products for

EUROPEAN, JAPANESE and AMERICAN convertibles.

ROBBINS PLASTIC WINDOW ASSEMBLIES. We make our PlasticWindow Assemblies using the same full width, first quality toppings weuse for Tops and Glass Windows, never from seconds or small piecessewn together. Robbins also uses Poly One (formerly Regalite) B.U.V.Ultralite, or new Ultrashield plastic sheets in our convertible Tops and inour Plastic Window Assemblies. These can be made with or withoutbottom color trim to match the Top, to duplicate the original style PlasticWindow used in each Top, and we note which Plastic Windows are madewith or without bottom color trim in our Catalog.

We offer the Ultrashield sewn into Cloth Tops as an option. There is anadditional charge to use Ultrashield that is detailed in our Price List. TheUltrashield offers greatly improved resistance to scratching and betterprotection against discoloration due to UV Light, and is available in Clearand Green Tint.

ROBBINS TONNEAU COVERS AND TOP BOOTS protect yourTop, seats and interior when the Top is down, and enhance the convertibledriving experience. Our Tonneau Covers and Top Boots feature the samecraftsmanship, attention to detail and commitment to quality found in ourconvertible Tops. Robbins Tonneau Covers are heavily reinforced,especially at points of stress, to insure long service life. Installationinstructions are included with most Tonneau Covers.

INNOVATION IS PART OF OUR HERITAGE. We were awardedU.S. Patent 4,684,419 for our Rainguard Deck Seam used in Tops for1980-93 VW Rabbit and Cabriolet convertibles. Most recently, Robbinshas filed a patent application for our Partitioned Cable Sleeve, and we areconsidering filing additional patents for new designs and techniques. In1994 Robbins developed the first Tops with Glass Window for 1990-97Mazda Miata convertibles originally equipped with Tops with PlasticWindows. Robbins was awarded U.S. Patent 5,375,901 for our uniquedesign for raising and lowering the Tinted Glass Window in our Tops for1990-97 Mazda Miata convertibles.

QUALITY SYSTEM. We are committed to continuously improving ourproducts and the level of service we offer our customers. Currently we areworking to obtain ISO 9000/QS 9000/Quality System Certification whichwe expect to achieve in 2003.

RECYCLED PACKAGING. All Robbins products are shipped in boxesmade from 100% recycled cardboard, and our Glass Windows are packedin recycled bubblepack. We also recycle our Plastic Window scrap, as wellas all cardboard cartons and wood pallets in which our raw materials andother items are shipped to us.


We use S-91 GERBERCUTTERS, which are the top of the line in textile cutting equipment. The computerized accuracy and heavy duty rack andpinion beam have made the S-91 the cutter of choice by leaders in the garment industry as well as aerospace manufacturers. This same CAD-CAM technology also ensures consistent, precise cutting of Convertible Tops, Window Curtains, Tonneau Covers and other products in ourmanufacturing operations.

(Glass Rear Windows can be ordered made entirely inSun-Fast Cloth with black backing if an exact match to the black backingcloth of the Sun-Fast Top is required). TOPPINGS AND OTHER MATERIALS

This is a period of great change in Toppings, Headliners and othermaterials used in convertibles. Many new convertibles are beingintroduced and Automotive Design and Styling departments want touse new toppings and colors to obtain a fresh new look. Toppings andcolors previously in use are then discontinued. Simply keeping abreastof all the changes in toppings and headliner materials is a challenge,and keeping these various toppings in stock is difficult. Toppingsuppliers such as Haartz impose large minimum yardage requirementsto run special colors of PVC Vinyl Toppings, and prohibitively high

requirements exist to order special colors of Cloth Toppings with theresult that many toppings are being discontinued at a rapid rate. It is nolonger possible to list all colors and toppings, headliners and othermaterials in our Catalog, since any list of colors becomes obsoletealmost immediately. Instead we will list only basic colors, and ask ourCustomers to use our Topping Sample System, or consult ourwebsite at www.robbinsautotopco.com to see the full range oftoppings, colors and headliner materials we currently haveavailable.

Tempered Safety Glass: PPG is our major supplier of TemperedSafety Glass in clear, tinted and tinted with heater/defroster styles asoriginally supplied to convertible manufacturers. All Tempered SafetyGlass used by Robbins meets all requirements of the National Trafficand Motor Vehicle Safety Act, and the Federal Motor Vehicle SafetyStandard No. 205 (Glazing Materials CF MVSS 205). All TemperedSafety Glass we use contains “AS 2” and D.O.T. in the markings puton the glass by the manufacturer to show that the glass in fullcompliance with all Federal Safety Requirements.

Plastic Windows: We use Polyone (formerly Regalite) B.U.V.Ultralite grade and Ultrashield as well as Solvay Draka premiumgrade press polished sheets in our Tops and Plastic WindowAssemblies. B.U.V. Ultralite, Ultrashield and Solvay Draka sheets areD.O.T. approved and are marked AS6 to show they meet a l lapplicable Federal Safety Standards.

B.U.V. Ultralite offers good resistance to discoloration caused byexposure to UV Light and is the plastic window we use in themajority of our convertible Tops including Suzuki Samurai, Sidekick(Vitara) and Geo Tracker; Isuzu Amigo Tops and Plastic WindowAssemblies. The most widely used Windows are clear, but Green orBronze tint Ultralite B.U.V. Plastic Windows are available in smallersizes only. (Tops and Plastic Window Assemblies which require lagersize plastic sheets can be made only in clear). The Green Tint isvirtually identical to the green tinted plastic windows used originallyby BMW for 3 Series and Z 3 Roadster convert ible Tops. Anadditional charge is required to use Green or Bronze Tint PlasticWindows in products in which clear Plastic Windows were usedoriginally. We will add a “G” for items ordered with Green TintedPlastic Windows to the part numbers for all items originally madewith standard clear Plastic Windows. An example would be 2207AGSF BKB for a 1969-On Triumph TR-6 with Green Plastic Windows, asshown in a photograph on the back cover of our Catalog.

Ultrashield: The Ultrashield is now available in Clear and GreenTint and is .040 gauge. The Ultrashield of fers resistance toscratching never before achieved in plastic windows, as well asimproved resistance to discoloration due to long term exposure toUV Light. These are the major causes of loss of visibility in current

plastic rear windows, along with environmental factors such as jetfuel residue, smog and other airborne contaminants. Polyone has putyears of research into developing Ultrashield, and we are pleased tobe able to offer our products made using this superior plasticwindow. Ultrashield can only be sewn (not Heatsealed)) into Topsand Plastic Windows, at an additional charge as shown in our NetPrice List. We continue to work on finding methods to HeatsealUltrashield into our products as well. Ultrashield is available in 24” x54” size only, and cannot be used in products that require a largersize plastic window.

Zippers: We primarily use #8 and #10 nylon zippers in ourConvertible Tops, Glass and Plastic Windows. We still make brasszippers available for some applications, but an additional charge isrequired. (Brass zippers cannot be used in most of our products).Our nylon, brass coil and separating zippers are supplied by YKKand Talon. Robbins has unique zippers made for our exclusive use.Our computer designed heat set, scoop counted Single Ring PullZipper we use in most of our 1990-On Miata Tops with Glass orPlastic Windows, assures zip-in replacement of Tops and Glass orPlastic Window Assemblies.

Fasteners and Hardware: We supply Tenax, Durable, Lift-The-Dot and all other hardware necessary to install our products. Oursources, both domestic and overseas, produce top quality chromeand nickel plated brass, black anodized, or black enameled fastenersand other hardware items.

Top Pads: We offer both Universal Tapered Top Pads andFactory Original Style replacement pads for selected models.Factory Original Style Top Pads are listed in the Catalogbeneath the convertible Tops with which they fit.


Non-Original Cloth Bindings: Owners of convertibles originallyequipped with Tops made in vinyl may wish to upgrade and order a Topmade in a Cloth Topping. To simplify ordering we will make all non-original Cloth Tops with matching Cloth Binding. Cloth Binding is

Original and Special Bindings for Convertible TopsWe duplicate the factory original style cloth or vinyl binding inmanufacturing our convertible Tops. Single Fold Binding, Double FoldBinding, Hand-Rolled Binding and Folded Edge (No Binding) are the fourstyles of original bindings we use to finish our products. Stitching used toattach the binding can be seen in Single Fold and Double Fold Bindings,and can be seen in some Tops with folded edges. Stitching cannot be seenin Tops finished with Hand-Rolled Binding.

Examples of styles of bindings used in different Tops are:Single Fold Cloth or Vinyl Binding: 2550 Ford of Europe Escort and2062 VW Cabriolet.

Double Fold Cloth or Vinyl Binding: Chrysler, Fiat, Ford, GeneralMotors (all except Allante), MG, Saab and many others. Double Fold is byfar the most common style of binding.

Hand-Rolled Cloth or Vinyl Binding: An “R” will be added to the end ofthe item number to designate that the item has been ordered with Hand-Rolled Binding, such as 2040R GR BKT; or if Hand-Rolled in vinyl, an “RV”will be added such as 2080RV SF BKB. An additional charge is requiredfor Hand-Rolled Cloth or Vinyl Binding to the Cloth or Vinyl list price formost items.

1.Locate the bottom center of the existing Glass or PlasticRear Window where it meets the inner edge of the belt molding.

2.Place a yardstick or metal ruler flat against the Rear Window soone end rests against the inner edge of the rear finish molding, and

measure to the middle of the rear bow.

3.The Bow Height measurement you have taken should not varymore than 1/2 inch from the figure listed in our Catalog. If the

measurement is off more than 1/2 inch, reset the rear bow to the correctheight before installation or our top and rear window will not fit correctly.

This series of diagrams is presented for the purpose of helping our customers better understand the terminology used to describeConvertible Tops, Glass and Plastic Rear Windows, Top Frames, etc. These diagrams are universal, and while no one diagram will show fulldetails of a specific top, almost any part of any top will appear in one of these diagrams.


All Robbins Convertible Tops, Tonneau Covers, Top Boots, Glass andPlastic Windows, Headliners, and other products are guaranteed to be freeof defects in materials and workmanship at the time of shipment from ourplant. We offer a PRO-RATED warranty for our products based onthe type of topping in which it is made and the length of time ourproduct has been installed. We guarantee our workmanship, and offerprotection against failure in toppings such as cracking, delamination,extreme color fading or discoloration; (except for lighter colors of GRGerman Cloth toppings for which no warranty is available) within thewarranty periods listed below. At our option, Robbins may repair or replaceproducts in which a defect is found.

Our PRO-RATED warranty does not cover damage caused to our productsby failure to properly operate a convertible top and glass or Plastic Windowby not following the procedures outlined in your Owner’s Manual, or anydamage caused by abuse whether accidental or intentional, or damagewhich may occur during installation or caused by use of improper cleanersor cleaning techniques. Our PRO-RATED Warranty furthermore does notcover damage to our products caused by top frame components or designof tops, top frames, body or interior components, etc., by convertiblemanufacturers. Numerous caution notes and disclaimers have been addedto our Catalog for our products for convertibles with known top or topframe problems.

Our PRO-RATED warranty is based on the warranties offered by automanufacturers for new convertibles. 3 Years for Tops and Glass Windows(depending on the topping in which it is made, as shown below). We standbehind our products, and while we must protect ourselves against abuseand negligence, Customer Satisfaction is always the number one priority ofour Warranty Policy.

Glass WindowsThere is no warranty against breakage of Glass Windows since we have nocontrol over the use and treatment of Glass Windows during or afterinstallation. We do however offer a 3 Year Warranty against failure of thebond of the sport topping to the glass, or failure in the topping that wouldcause the Glass Window not to operate correctly. Folding Glass Windowswhich use our Flex-Hinge , U.S. Patent 4,799,727; as well as our Tops withGlass Window and Glass Window Upgrades for Mazda MX-5 Miata, arealso guaranteed for three years from date of installation.

HEADLINERS, TOP BOOTS, PLASTIC WINDOWS and TONNEAUCOVERS.We offer a one year Warranty for these products regardless of the sporttopping or other material in which they are made.

WARNINGDamage caused by failure to properly operate a Convertible Top, GlassWindow, Tonneau Cover, etc., is the sole responsibility of the purchaser.Most damage of this nature occurs when convertibles are loaned to friendsor relatives who are unfamiliar with convertibles. An example of this type ofdamage is when late MGB Tops tear because the fasteners were notreleased before the top was lowered. The most common cause of GlassWindow breakage is obstruction of the glass during raising or lowering.Before lowering any Convertible Top, make sure the storage compartmentis free of any foreign object (such as beach towels, school books, toys,etc.) In convertibles with soft wells (pouch type storage compartments), besure nothing is underlying the well, and that everything in the trunk issecured. (Spare tires, tools, cartons, etc., can shift and cause problems thenext time the top is lowered or raised).

Other causes of glass breakage can be metal top frame components whichare out of alignment. If you notice any irregular movement, stiffness orother problem in lowering or raising your top, immediately take yourconvertible top to an Automotive Trim and Upholstery Shop, or if yourconvertible top is still under warranty, to the dealer to have the framemechanism inspected. One last cause of Glass Window breakage in latemodel convertibles is the poor design of rear seats. Over time, in somenewer convertibles, the rear seat backrest can be bent out of shape, and asa result, Glass Windows can snag on the rear seat backrest and shatterwhen the top is raised or lowered.

We strongly recommend that you always watch carefully as youraise and lower your convertible top and glass rear window toavoid experiencing the sorts of problems described above.


Knots and Minor Blemishes, Direction of Weave in ClothToppings: Small knots and blemishes can occur in all cloth toppings dueto limitations in the capabilities of the looms which weave the cloth.

We cut our Tops to obtain optimum stretch for decks, quarters andreinforcements to insure the best fit and long service life. However, whenwe cut our cloth toppings with directional weaves such as twill weave usedin our Sun-Fast “G”, Twillfast, or German Toppings, decks and quartersmay have weaves cut in different directions to obtain the best fit for ourproducts.

Normal Color Fading and Shrinkage: All sport toppings, vinyl andcloth, will experience some color fading and normal shrinkage over time.Robbins cannot be held responsible for this unavoidable “aging” process.

Damage Caused by Worn or Defective Frames, or Design of TopFrames and Tops by Convertible Manufacturers: Robbins is notresponsible for damage to our products, or to the convertibles on whichthey are installed, caused by worn or defective top frames; or by defectiveor missing straps, pads or other components.

Robbins furthermore is not responsible for damage caused by the automanufacturer’s design of convertible tops or top frames. 1990-94 Capri,1987-94 Cadillac Allante, 1987-95 Chrysler LeBaron, 1987-95 BMW 3Series, 1987-On Camaro and 1987-On Saab convertibles for example,have problems in the design of the top, or top frame that can causeconvertible tops and headliners to be pinched, cut, or develop holes as aresult of raising and lowering the top over time. Other models such as1989-94 Isuzu Amigo and 1990-94 Capri convertibles developed waterleakage problems which are inherent in the basic design, and for which wecannot be held responsible.

Damage Caused by Failure to Install Side Cables or OtherComponents; or Improper Installation: Robbins cannot be heldresponsible for damage to our products, or to top frame, interior, body, orother area of the convertible, caused by failure to use, correctly install orreplace side or rear cables, weatherseals, rain rails, top or quarter pads,fasteners or other components installed as original equipment by theconvertible manufacturer. Robbins furthermore is not responsible for anydamage to our products or the convertible on which they are installedcaused by use of incorrect tools or improper installation procedures.

Improper Cleaning or Customer Abuse: Any damage to our productscaused by use of improper cleaning techniques, or use of inappropriatecleaning solutions or solvents; or damage caused by Customer abuse,whether accidental or intentional, is the sole responsibility of the purchaser.

EXCLUSIONS FROM WARRANTY COVERAGE

Plastic Windows: We offer no warranty for plastic rear windows becauseno clear, flexible plastic exists that can stand up to the harmful effect of UVlight, and the atmospheric chemicals that are found in smog, smoke, dust,fog etc. However, frequent cleaning will prolong the service life of PlasticWindows. Consult our Tradition of Excellence Brochure for tips to prolongservice life.

Zippers, Fasteners and Other Hardware: Always treat zippers andfasteners with care since No Warranty is available from zipper or fastenermanufacturers. For all convertible tops with zipper windows, alwaysUNLATCH TOP AT FRONT BEFORE UNZIPPING, OR ZIPPING WINDOWCLOSED, EXCEPT for 1990-97 Mazda Miata Glass Zipper Window Tops(2912, 2913, 2914, 2915, zipper), and Glass Window Upgrades (TN212Hand TN213). We can guarantee only that zippers and fasteners were free ofdefects at the time of shipment since we have no control over their useduring or after installation.

Thread: Threads currently available do not offer the colorfastness ofvinyls, Robbins Sun-Fast, Sun-Fast “G”, or Haartz Twillfast cloth sporttoppings and will fade over time. Our black thread offers the highestresistance to fading of any black thread currently in use, but may fadeslightly over time.

Alteration or Modification of Our Products: Any alteration,modification, substitution of components, etc., that in any manner altersthe appearance or the way in which our products function, automaticallyvoids our Warranty Protection.

Disclaimer: We cannot be held responsible for damage caused by Acts ofGod such as floods, hail storms, earthquakes, etc. There are not additionalwarranties or guarantees expressed or implied, beyond what is describedabove. We furthermore do not authorize others to make any claims ofmerchantability, warranty, fitness, etc., of our products other than what isdescribed above.

Additional Terms and ConditionsRobbins Limited Warranty applies to the original purchaser of ourproducts. Any sale or transfer of the vehicle to another party may void ourwarranty. For the Limited Warranty to be valid, the warranty card in the boxshould be signed and returned to us. A copy of the retail invoice from theautomotive trim and upholstery shop that installed our product on yourvehicle, showing that our product was installed, should be submitted withany warranty claim. In the event the warranty card has been lost, your retailinvoice can be used to substantiate your claim.

OWNER WARRANTY CLAIM PROCEDURES

Should a defect be found in one of our products, any warrantyadjustment made will be PRO-RATED BASED ON THE LENGTH OF TIMEOUR PRODUCT HAS BEEN INSTALLED. All requests for warrantyclaims by convertible owners must be directed to the automotivetrim and upholstery shop, or automotive specialist where ourproduct(s) were installed and/or purchased. The shop will, in turn,contact our distributor from whom our product was ordered, who willforward the request to us. Owners need to authorize Trim Shops torequest a replacement product on their behalf, and shops must returnproducts in which a defect has been reported to Robbins before creditcan be issued.

Our policy is that any warranty adjustment made will be pro-rated based onthe length of time our product was installed. Products in which a defect isfound will be repaired or replaced at our option. While this is not requiredin all instances, Robbins reserves the right to insist that items for whichwarranty claims have been made be returned to us for inspection beforeany adjustment is made. A copy of the retail invoice from the automotivetrim and upholstery shop that installed our product(s) on your convertible,or invoice from the automotive specialist where it was purchased, clearlystating the use of our Robbins products, should be submitted with anywarranty claim. We stand behind our products, and Customer satisfactionis always the number one priority of our Warranty Policy.



TRIM SHOP RETURN PROCEDURES

1. Should a defect be found in one of our products, contact the jobber fromwhom our product was purchased and provide the part number, material,color, date of installation, Jobber invoice number and date, and reason forrequest for credit. As a rule TRIM SHOPS MUST RETURN PRODUCTS INWHICH A DEFECT HAS BEEN REPORTED TO ROBBINS FOR INSPECTIONBEFORE CREDIT CAN BE ISSUED, although exceptions can be made forinternational customers or due to unique circumstances.

2. Your jobber will contact Robbins and provide a Customer RequestForm containing our part number, material type and color; BarCode Label Information, Jobber invoice number, the name,address, and telephone number of your shop, and reason forrequest for credit. Robbins will issue a Return Authorization Number toyour jobber to pass on to your shop. In the 48 continental states in theU.S.A., Robbins will send a U.P.S. Call Tag to pick up our product.The Return Authorization Number must be written on the box andon all related paperwork sent with returned item.

3. To obtain credit, Trimmers need to provide a copy of the invoicefrom the jobber from whom they purchased our product, plus acopy of the retail invoice to the convertible owner showing thedate our product was installed. Failure to provide an invoice copy canresult in no credit being issued. Photographs may be required tosubstantiate requests for R.A. numbers and issuing of credit.

4. Our Product must be folded carefully and returned in the same manner itwas received, and in the original box. Special attention must be given totops with plastic windows, and plastic rear window assemblies. Alwayspack tissue around window and fold without creasing window.

5. All fasteners, parts and other hardware must be returned with ourproduct.

6. Glass Windows must be carefully packed with bubble pack and returnedin original box to avoid breakage during shipment.

7. All returned products will be inspected before any credit is issued; andall returned products may be subject to a minimum 10% restockingcharge.

8. Items with less than 10 sales per year, or made in non-originalcolors and toppings, are non-returnable.

9. Items which are past their warranty period are non-returnable.

10. Manufacturer reserves the right to void all warranties unless product isreceived in original box, and unless both Jobber invoices and retailcustomer invoice showing installation date are submitted.

11. Robbins will not accept delivery of items shipped to us without aReturn Authorization Number, or shipped to us C.O.D.

Labor Credit: Full labor credit will be issued for warranty claims filedwithin the first twelve months after installation of our products, after theitem has been returned to Robbins for inspection to confirm that thewarranty claim is valid. One-half labor credit will be issued for warrantyclaims filed in the second year after installation, and no labor credit will beissued in the third year after installation. All labor credits will be issued toour distributors who, in turn, will pass these credits on to the automotivetrim and upholstery shop performing the warranty replacement. All laborcredits issued will be in the form of products, usually a convertible topmade in vinyl of our choice.

INSTALLATION OF OUR PRODUCTS

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

u Care of Glass Windows: Glass Windows should be cleaned with water based glass cleaners only. Please be extremely careful when cleaning Heater/Defroster glass windows not to scratch the defroster lines or to break the power source connector wire. Cleaner should never be allowed to drip into seams or heat seals.

u Care of Plastic Windows: Plastic windows in convertible Tops should be cleaned frequently. Be sure to hose or blow off loose dirt particles from surface first, and then use either plain water or mild soapand water solution. Apply with a soft cloth or tissue to gently clean window. Always clean in a side to side or a top to bottom motion, NEVER in a circular motion, (cleaning in a circular motion candamage plastic windows). There are also several good plastic cleaners available such as “ Meguiar’s Mirror Glaze Formula 17”. Never use harsh brushes or abrasives when cleaning plastic windows.

ALWAYS Leave a new top and glass or plastic window in the up position fora minimum of 24 hours after our products were installed. Asconvertible top frames age, links and joints wear and top frames do not have the same alignment as when convertibles were new.Leaving convertible tops and glass windows in the up position after installation allows them time to become seasoned to the top frame.

ALWAYS Try to leave your top in the up position overnight, or whenever elseyou will not be driving. This will help retain the original shape of your top, resist shrinkage, and avoid crease marks where the top folds when in the down position. This will help as well toprolong the service life of plastic windows.

ALWAYS Follow the instructions in your Owner’s Manual forlowering and raising your Top except when specified otherwise in Robbins literature. Always keep the top well area free of objects, especially if a Glass Window is installed with your Top. Even harmless looking objects such as beach towels can cause glass windows to break. Objects in your top well can further cause unnecessary wear and stress on top frames, plus cause damage to your top and to plastic windowsas well.

ALWAYS Unlatch Top at front before unzipping, or zipping windowclosed before latching for any convertible Top, Glass or Plastic Window, unless different instructions appear in your owners manual or product brochure.

ALWAYS Try and keep your Top, Tonneau Cover, Glass or PlasticWindow, etc., clean.

DO NOT Raise or lower convertible tops, glass or plastic windowassemblies when the temperature is below 40 degrees (5 degrees Centigrade) since this can cause damage to the topping, plastic windows and other components.

DO NOT Lower your convertible top, glass or plastic window when the top is wet, to avoid discoloration or other damage to the topping or inside backing.

DO NOT Store away wet top boots or tonneau covers, to avoid discolorationand shrinking that can cause these products to no longer fit.

CARE AND CLEANING

u Use of Vinyl PreservativesPlease note we do not recommend use of penetrating vinylpreservatives, conditioners or dressings on Tops, Tonneau Covers, etc.

u Cleaning Tops, Tonneau Covers and Other Products Made in Cloth or Vinyl Toppings: We strongly recommend hand washingconvertible tops and other products made in Cloth sport Toppings. Tops and other products made in Vinyl toppings can be cleaned using Vinyl Cleaners such as Malco which are widely available. While Car Washes generally will not harm convertible Tops and Glass or Plastic Windows made in Cloth or Vinyl Toppings, never allow a car wash to apply spray wax to your convertible Top.

To hand wash our products, use Ivory or other mild soap flakes in a bucket of lukewarm water. In hard water areas add Calgon (not to be confused with dishwasher detergent) or other water softener until the water feels slippery.

ALWAYS Wash Tops, Tonneau Covers, etc. in the shade, never in direct sun.

ALWAYS Wash entire Top, Tonneau Cover, etc. Never spot clean to avoid rings or bright spots.

ALWAYS Wet entire car before sudsing Top. Use sponge or soft bristlebrush to apply suds. Do not use a chamois or cloth since these will leave lint on Cloth Tops.

ALWAYS Rinse well with hose making sure to remove all traces of soap. Wipe off excess water with sponge. Please be careful to hose down entire car to prevent soap from streaking paint.

ALWAYS Install Tonneau Covers and Top Boots after cleaning while still damp to preserve fit and shape.

ALWAYS Try to move Tops into direct sun after cleaning and thoroughrinsing to dry. Chamois all excess water off body of car.

DO NOT Use detergents, bleaches, harsh cleaners, commercial cleanersor abrasives.

DO NOT Use dry-cleaning solvents, etc.

DO NOT Use hot water.

DO NOT Cover convertible tops when wet or damp. This can lead to mildew growth and in extreme cases can cause discoloration or rotting of toppings to occur.

CAUTION: Check top straps before beginning installation. If top frame straps wear out, top will no longer fold correctly, and cuts or holes canoccur when the top is raised or lowered. Service Bulletin 54 05 93 has been issued by BMW advising that holes can develop at the right rear quarterson 1987-93 BMW E30 tops because the single top motor located on the passenger side pulls the top down too tightly when the top is lowered. The "A" and "B" measurements determine which top to order, since A.S.C. and General Motors made many changes to the top and top frame, and norecords are available to us to show which top fits which year Camaro or Firebird.

CAUTION: This system is approximate, and there is no guarantee that taking these measurements will insure that tops fit correctly. Pleasecarefully lay our top over the old top BEFORE installing our top. Tops that do not appear to fit can be exchanged for another Robbins Camaro Top ifreturned in original box and if there is no damage to the Top or Plastic Window, and these are not special order non-returnable tops.

NOTE: Exercise extreme caution when installing flap at lower rear rail, not to place rail too near topstitch. All 7203,7204,7205,7206 Tops made withelastic straps at rear quarters, and if the old top on the car did not have these elastic straps, simply cut them off and complete the installation.

DISCLAIMER: A.S.C. and General Motors made many changes to the Camaro convertible top and top frame. Some tops have elastic straps at the rearquarters, and others do not. The rear bow position was changed several times so we cannot guarantee that the rear seam in our top will line up overthe rear bow of Camaro convertibles. No records are available to us as to when these changes were made. Top frame design problems can causepremature wear, cuts and holes in the rear quarters; and the lower rail can cut the topstitch at rear quarters.
