Cooperative Strategy
• Intend is to coordinate activities between INCITS & IMSS to:– Ensure timeliness wrt other work– Follow latest IETF directions, take advantage of
expertise
• T11.5 has approved a process for this:– Run an internal project as usual, including Letter
Ballot, on a draft MIB– When all issues that can be resolved are done,
transfer change control to IMSS
Project Status
• First two MIB projects approved in T11.5 in December 2003– Name Server MIB– Domain Manager MIB (decided to change
name to Fabric Address Manager MIB is better mesh with other T11 projects)
• See http://www.t11.org/t11/stat.nsf/tg5 for full details of the management group
Project Status
• T11 takes “formal” online ballots on “drafts” as part of approval process– Ballots closed 6/03/2004
• Domain Manager MIB (called SM-FAM) Y38-N02-A12-DNV03 (1 yes ballots included comments) – 99 comments total
• Name Server MIB (called SM-NSM) Y38-N02-A12-DNV03 (3 yes ballots included comments) – 86 comments total
– See http://www.t11.org/t11/vote.nsf/xbals for full details
Project Status
• T11.5 hoped to have comment resolution completed in time to submit completed internet-drafts for this meeting– Apologies for the fact that this didn’t happen– Group met twice in July, is meeting later this week
in Colorado, and again in October– Target is to submit for November IETF
Project Status
• Also approved two new projects– Routing Information MIB (called SM-RTM)– Fibre Shortest Path First (FSPF, called
SM-FSM)
• Target is to pass completed drafts to imss @ 62nd IETF (March 2005)
