UNIQUE BARRIER & DECORATION IN ONE

Thermoformed In-Mould Labelled (T-IML) prod- ucts are the first ever plastic packaging solution to feature decorated, high barrier and retortable containers. Thus, T-IML packaging is highly rele- vant for premium-branded products that require long shelf-life and that need to withstand retort or hot fill processes. The packaging solution by Cov- eris is a cost-efficient and sustainable substitute for existing thermoformed and post-printed, post- labelled or sleeved packaging products and pres- ents a real alternative to aluminium packaging.

    HIGH BARRIER & RETORTABLE PACKAGING

The multi-layer sheets include a middle layer with barrier properties to provide all-over protection in the final packaging. Oxygen barriers help to increase the shelf-life of the packaged product. 100% UV barriers also allow for the preservation of the organoleptic properties of high fat products, as well as being suitable for retort and hot fill pro- cesses.

  • A UNIQUE & EFFICIENT ALL-IN-ONE COMBINATION

The in-mould labelling process is integrated di- rectly with thermoforming, allowing for flexible and fast format or design changes, with a high hourly output (up to 25 000 pcs/h). This cohesive approach offers several advantag- es over traditional decorating methods, such as printing, shrink-sleeves and adhesive labels, all of which need additional processes or further han- dling to complete the decoration, and which are not suitable for the sterilization process, as well as having limited decoration areas.

    TRULY SUSTAINABLE PACKAGING SOLUTION

Weight savings of up to 20% can be achieved (as a result of a density decrease) by using foamed, lightweight multilayer sheets like NEOCELL® or NEOCELL®+ with a gas-injected middle layer and optional filler materials. Moreover, low levels of waste and low operating temperatures are guaranteed when applying our in-mould labels, achieving an improved carbon footprint.

    HIGH QUALITY, FULL COVERAGE DECORATION

T-IML meets the growing demand for packaging with highly sophisticated decoration. The in- mould labels offer 360° branding opportunities, right up to the sealing rim. High quality printing processes with photo-realistic illustrations are also possible for various label types in combina-

tion with different base materials. *) Mono- and bi-coloured standard & multilayer (gas / UV) barrier sheets
