Debbie Lapan, Debbie Kenny. G irls Basketball Looking Good! The girls’ basketball team's record last year was a respectable 11-5. This year should prove to be as productive, with a balanced mix of sophomores and fresh men. They are off to a quick start with a 2-0 record. The team is coached by Dan Dudek, a longtime mainstay of Paul Smith’s athletics, with over 21 years experience in the area of collegiate sports. Coach Dudek is extremely pleased with this year’s team and he has high hopes for the women cagers. Coach Dudek spoke about a “potentially com petitive and exciting team this year." He reports that they are working very hard and he would hope to see the women’s sports program receive more attention. She was last year’s team MVP and team leader. This season she is the team captain and, in the words of Coach Dudek, "the nucleus of the team." This season she has already started where she left off last year, scor ing 19 points in a win over Canton ATC. The best of luck to Heather and hope fully she can lead the women netters to a championship season!
