5 Operation5.1 Operating with switching

adapterPlug in switching adapter[1-9] in connecting sock-et [1-2] and power outlet.

5.2 Operating with external Fes-tool battery pack [2A] + [2B]

The device can operate with any Fes-tool battery pack from the BP, BPC orBPS series. When connected to theexternal Festool battery pack, the de-vice only consumes power from thisbattery pack.CAUTION Always attach the batterypack completely. If not, it may acci-dentally fall out of the battery bay,causing injury to you or someonearound you.CAUTION Do not force attach the bat-tery pack. If the battery pack does notslide in smoothly and does not en-gage, it is not being inserted correct-ly.CAUTION For optimal performance,we recommend connecting to an 18VLi-Ion battery pack.5.3 Switch on/off To switch on: Press the power but-

ton [1-5].The radio is ready for operation. To switch off: Press and hold the

power button [1-5] for a second.5.4 Volume control

Press the volume control [a]and [k] to adjust the desiredvolume.

For a better sound quality usingan external device, adjust thevolume on the external deviceto maximum 70%.

5.5 Checking battery statusTo check the current battery level,press the power button [1-5] toswitch on the radio. The battery sta-tus indicator [e] will show the currentbattery level (only with Li-Ion batterypack).

5.6 Operating your radio - FM Straighten up the antenna [1-3].

Press the source but-ton [j] until the FM modeis selected.

FM auto-tune Press and hold (~1 sec.) the Tuning

control [i], [h] to carry out an auto-tune.

Your radio will stop scanning when itfinds a station of sufficient strength.

The display will show the frequencyof the signal found. If the signal isstrong enough and there is RDS datapresent, the radio may display thestation name, radio text and clocktime.

Finding other stations Press the Tuning control [i], [h] as

before.When the end of the waveband isreached, your radio will restart tun-ing from the opposite end of thewaveband. If you find that FM reception is

poor, try repositioning the an-tenna.

Manual tuning -FM Press the Tuning control [i], [h] to

tune to a station. The frequency will change in steps of0.1 MHz.5.7 Using preset stationsYou may store your preferred FM ra-dio stations to the preset stations.There are four memory presets inyour radio. Press and hold (~1 sec.) the Preset

button [b], [c], [f] or [g] until thedisplay show <SET MEMO>.

The station will be accessible via thechosen preset button. The presetnumber P1 to P4 will be shown in thedisplay.Repeat this procedure as required forthe remaining presets. Stationsstored in preset memories may beoverwritten by retracing the stepsabove.

Recalling preset stations Press the required Preset button

[b], [c], [f] or [g] to tune to the sta-tion stored in preset memory.

5.8 Clock time - Radio Data Sys-tem

Your radio will synchronize and dis-play clock time [d] whenever it tunesto a radio station using RDS with CTsignals. If the station has sufficientsignal strength the clock will auto-matically synchronize within one ortwo minutes. The radio clock timewill be valid for 24 hours each timethe radio time is synchronized withRDS CT. If no RDS-signal is received, the

clock time is not shown.5.9 Listening to music via Blue-

tooth streamingYou need to pair your Bluetooth de-vice with your SysRock before you canauto-link to play/stream Bluetooth

music through your SysRock. Pairingcreates a "bond" so two devices willrecognize each other and establish alink that enables data transfer.

Pairing your Bluetooth device for thefirst time Press the Source button [j] to se-

lect the Bluetooth mode.The Bluetooth status iconflashes to show the SysRockis discoverable.

Activate Bluetooth on your mobiledevice according to the device'suser manual to link up to the Sys-Rock.

Locate the Bluetooth device listand select <SysRock>. Some mo-bile devices (which are equippedwith bluetooth interfaces olderthan the BT2.1 standard.), requireentering the pass code “0000”.

Once the connection is es-tablished, the Bluetoothicon will cease flashing and

display a check mark next to it. Sim-ply select and play any music fromyour source device. NOTE:– If two Bluetooth devices, which

are not yet paired to the SysRockboth simultaeneously search foryour SysRock, it will show its

availability on both devices. How-ever, if one device establishes aconnection with the SysRock first,then the other Bluetooth devicewon't find it on its list.

– If you take your source device outof range, the connection will betemporarily lost. Your SysRockwill automatically reconnect, ifthe source device is brought backin range. Be aware that while theconnection is lost, no other Blue-tooth device can pair or link withyour SysRock.

– If <SysRock> shows in your Blue-tooth device’s list but your devicecannot connect with it, please de-lete the item from your list andpair up the device with the Sys-Rock again following the stepsdescribed previously.

– The effective operation range be-tween the system and the paireddevice is approximately 10 meters(30 feet). Any obstacle betweenthe system and the device can re-duce the operational range.

– Bluetooth connectivity perfor-mance may vary depending on theconnected Bluetooth devices.Please review the Bluetooth ca-pabilities of your device beforeconnecting to your SysRock.

Some features may not be sup-ported on your Bluetooth device.

Playing audio files in BluetoothmodeAs soon as your SysRock is success-fully connected with the chosen Blue-tooth device, you can start to playyour music using the controls on yourconnected Bluetooth device. Once the SysRock plays adjust the

volume to the desired level usingthe Volume control [a], [k] on ei-ther your SysRock or your connect-ed Bluetooth device.

Use the controls on your device toplay/pause and navigate tracks. Al-ternatively, control the playbackusing Play/Pause [b], Next track[h], Previous track buttons [i] onthe SysRock.

The currently-played track informa-tion (i.e. the track name /the artistname) will be displayed as scrollingtext at the bottom of display. NOTE:– Some player applications or de-

vices may not respond to all ofthese controls.

– Some mobile phones may tempo-rarily disconnect from your Sys-Rock when you make or receivecalls. Some devices may tempo-

rarily mute their Bluetooth audiostreaming when they receive textmessages, emails or for otherreasons unrelated to audiostreaming. Such behaviour is afunction of the connected deviceand does not indicate a fault withyour SysRock.

Playing previously-paired devicesThis unit can save up to 8 sets ofpaired devices. When the amount isexceeded, the earliest device will beover written. If your Bluetooth devicehas already been paired with the Sys-Rock previously, the unit will recog-nize your Bluetooth device and willautomatically attempt to reconnectwith the device it was last connectedwith. If the last connected device isnot available, the SysRock will try toconnect to the second last device, andso forth.

Deleting Bluetooth device pairings To delete all Bluetooth device pair-

ings, press and hold the Preset 4button [g] until <BT-RESET>shows on the display. The SysRockwill turn off automatically after thememory is cleared.

Disconnecting your Bluetooth device Press the Source button [j] to se-

lect any mode other than Bluetoothmode.

Alternatively, press (~2 sec.) theBluetooth pair button [f] to discon-nect the link.

If you disconnect the Bluetooth de-vice when you are in Bluetooth mode,the Bluetooth icon will then start toflash, indicating Bluetooth is avail-able again for pairing.

Using your hands-free call featureYour unit can be used as ahands-free accessory foryour phone. When music is

playing through your SysRock andyou receive a call on your phone it canpause the music automatically to al-low you to answer your phone. If you receive a call while playing

music through your SysRock, pressand release the Call button [c] toanswer your phone call.

Speak in direction of the built-inmicrophone [1-7]. Note that a very high volume

setting may decrease soundquality.

Press and release the Call button[c] to end the phone call.

5.10 Auxiliary input (AUX-IN)A 3.5 mm Auxiliary input[1-4] is provided on the

top panel of your SysRock to permitan audio signal to be fed into the unitfrom an external audio device such asan MP3 or CD player. Connect a stereo or mono audio

source (for example MP3 or CDplayer) to the Auxiliary input [1-4].

Press the Source button [j] to se-lect the Aux mode.

Adjust the Volume control on yourMP3 or CD player (max. 80%) to en-sure an adequate signal and thenadjust the volume on the SysRockfor comfortable listening. Never use the Aux-In socket in

rainy or moist conditions to pre-vent moist from entering theSysRock. Make sure that therubber cover on top fits thightlywhen operating in a moist envi-ronment.

5.11 Setup optionsAttachment handle [1-1]The folding attachment handle allowsyou to hang the device from scaffold-ing or similar structures. If you decide to power the device

with an external Festool batterypack, the attachment handle

must be detached beforehand[2A].

TripodA standard photographic tripod withUNC 1/4"-20 thread can be attachedto the threaded tripod socket [2-1].

– Always clean the display [1-8]and speaker grill [1-6] on theSysRock using a soft, dry cloth toprevent any damage. Do not usesolvents.

serve applicable national regula-tions.
