Synergy’s New Vet Phobia Treatment Program! Phase 1: Initial Vet Phobia Consult with one of our Behavior Clinicians Focused assessment of tolerances for veterinary and husbandry procedures. You will be kept up to date on your patient’s progress and any medical care that is performed. Phase 2: Implement Behavioral Treatment Plan May include basket muzzle training, trialling distraction techniques, happy visits to your hospital, desensitization and counterconditioning to veterinary handling, cooperative care techniques, and behavioral medications and sedation recommendations if appropriate. Our Certified Trainers help implement the behavior modification plan as needed. Phase 3: Transitional Healthcare During your patient’s treatment, we can provide basic care such as wellness examinations, vaccines, and lab-work until they are ready to come back to you. Any situations of illness or more advanced diagnostics would be referred back to your practice. Phase 4: Transfer Care Back to You Once your patient is comfortable with veterinary handling they are transferred back to your care along with information on how to maintain their comfort.
