Community Risk Reduction

Public Safety Education Chief Froelich and Inspector Hillard conducted Safety Inspections for the employees at Arbors of Sylvania. They continued with planning and meetings for a fire incident drill at Kingston Care Center. This is a new requirement from the Licensing Agency for most nursing homes and similar agencies. Planning meetings also continued for a Fire Drill through the LEPC as well. Both projects will involve the Fire Department crews in simulated incidents and will help with our preparedness as well. Chief Froelich and Inspector Hillard also conducted Safety Training for the RA’s at Lourdes University to start the new school year. Building and Project Plan Reviews

Notable Projects The Community Risk Reduction Bureau conducted (18) plan reviews in August, (4) license inspections for pre-school, daycare facilities and /or home inspections for Adoption and Foster Care; and (3) State Inspections, (5) consultations to local businesses and completed (5) acceptance test inspection. The crews gave (3) Fire Safety Education talks for different groups in the community and completed smoke alarm checks at least(2) homes this month. 155 fire safety inspections were completed in August.
