Comment [a1]: You want to make sure to cov

    adding instructor information (name, email,

telephone, office hours, and instructor location i

required on all syllabi. Point out that instructors

required to choose Display on Syllabus on the

author side each semester. You can cover how t

add the instructor image too always a nice

    addition for students.

Comment [a2]: Be sure to point out not to

upload Word documents as syllabi, and list the

reasons why you may also want to show how t

do not show on the .org site.

Comment [a3]: This is necessary for transfer

students many syllabi dont include course nam

    and number, nor prereqs.

Comment [a4]: Also required if no prereqs,

    that also.

Comment [a5]: You have this listed as course

objectives, when youre really listed competencie

All you need to do if they are the same is chan

your first line. Obj ectives are what the course w

cover, competencies are what the students will b

able to do upon completing the course successfu

Comment [a6]: It is always good to add a pict

of the correct textbook. Be sure to include check

the .org textbook site for the most current versio

of the textbook each semester, to make sure

instructors have the correct textbook . (for fully

online shared courses on the .org site I imagine

instructors check with the local bookstore for

ecompanion, hybrid and restricted online course

Oh I see you have an image below. If you add

coding to the textbook you can have your wordin

wrap around the textbook to save space and red

the number of pages needed to print

Comment [a7]: Do you need to also add that

documents will not be accepted? Most courses

REQUIRE all assignments to be sub mitted in .rtf

format, so for those of us who will not accept it i

application courses, we need to specifically state

wont take that format. Most students have bee

conditioned to only submit assignments in rtf

    format.

Comment [a8]: This is somewhat of an archa

    way of keeping notes.?

Comment [a9]: What are these items?

Textbooks? Note cards? (the message comes rig

after referring to note cardsso I assumed that is

    what you were referring to.

Comment [a10]: How, where? Alwa ys good

sending a student somewhere else, to list email a

telephone numbers right there. You dont want

them to need to go find it themselves it may n

    happen.

what is on your syllabus, as it comes directly from

    my syllabi. lol

Comment [a12]: This is still good to have, ev

though the course now adds the course prefix an

course, but if students email from outside of the

    TechnicalRequirements

In order to make the most of your online learning experience, there are

several minimal technical requirements your computer system will need tomeet. Click the technical requirements link shown below to test your computer

system before beginning the course. This step will help ensure your onlinesuccess.

y Technology Requirements If you have any questions after completing the system test, please contactme.

Students are required to have a home computer or access to schoolcomputers to complete their weekly assignments. Not having access to a

computer is NOT an excuse for late work or getting assignments completed by

their due dates. It is always a good idea when taking online classes to have abackup plan for computer access if problems arise. This may be a friend'scomputer, the school computers, or a public library, etc.

    CoursePolicies and

    Procedures

Attendance Policy and Classroom Conduct---Courteous online classroomconduct is expected of all students. Please refer to Student Ethics Agreement

found under course home if you have any questions. Weekly onlineattendance is expected in this course.

Missed Assignment Policy---Students should print the Due Dates forLessons schedule as found under the Course Home. These deadlines MUST

be met! I will allow one late assignment per semester; other late assignmentswill be given half credit.

Plan ahead to manage your time wisely to meet these deadlines---computerproblems at the last minute are NOT an excuse for not getting your homeworkcompleted. Start early and submit your assignments before the deadline, thatway if you do happen to have computer issues you can sti ll access a friend's

or school computer to submit your work on time.

Cheating Policy---If cheating is suspected on an assignment exam problem, the following procedure will be followed:

y The person or persons suspected will be confronted in writing and bytelephone.

y The person or persons suspected will be allowed to state their case. y If it is determined that cheating has occurred, a zero will be given on

    the assignment exam problem involved.

y If a student is caught cheating twice, he/she will fail the class .

    StudentEthics

    Statement

It is critical that you read and adhere to the Student Ethics Statement foundunder course home. It contains important ethical information for this course.(Be sure to nod your head 'YES' after you read the agreement so I know youagree.)

Comment [a13]: Remind people to have this

(and all links) open in a new window, not in the

    course window.

Comment [a14]: Any different color must ha

two formatting changes to meet ADA rules if y

change a color (especially to red/green/yellow/b

you need to add bold, italics, etc. because color

blind people cannot see the change in color. For

blind people the reader would read that it is bold

    they know it is important.

Comment [a15]: You might want to take my

sarcasm out of the syllabus you use..:)
