06_ FITTING:

Why is fit important? Well, a properly fitted helmet will be most comfortable, but more importantly, it will offer the maximum amount of protection and performance. Helmets offer optimal protection only when fitted and worn properly, thus, finding the right size and model is crucial. If the helmet does not have a correct fit, the head might accelerate inside the helmet during a severe blow, which will create too much energy that neither the padding oryour brain can withstand. Note that there are circumstances where the helmet will not fit due to the shape of the helmet and the shape of your head. In cases like this, you may have to try on a few different models to find the right one.

Here’s a checklist:

Measuring tape - This is a good tool to determine the correct circumference and get a rough idea of what helmet size will fit best. SWEET helmet sizes are determined in centimeters.

Putting on helmet - Align the front rim of the helmet above your eyebrows. Hold the straps on both sides and roll the helmet over the back of your head. Make sure the front is low in the forehead, otherwise no size or model will fit or protect you correctly.

Check for gaps - Once the helmet is on it’s time to check for comfort and gaps. The comfort padding should be flush with the forehead with no major gaps. The back of the helmet should not cover the nape of the neck. Make sure the helmet is seated all the way down on the head. Finally, adjust chinstrap to a snug and comfortable fit.

Roll test - Slightly roll or lift your helmet off your head. If the skin on your forehead moves, you have a good fit.

Proper use - Be sure the helmet is fitted just above your eyebrows and that your goggles fit your face while wearing the helmet. There should be minimal or no gaps between the top of the helmet and the goggles.

Satisfaction - Make sure that you’re comfortable in your helmet. Go out and play!

01_ TECHNOLOGY:

SWEET is utilizing a unique protection technology. We were among the very first to provide carbon fibre reinforced helmet shells. It protects the skull like nothing else. Nothing comes close to the fit and slimness of SWEET helmets, -half the volume and super light weight, yet offering equal or better protection.

03_ THE PRODUCTION PROCESS:

Our shells are constructed from continues carbon fibre reinforced thermosetting resin composites. It’s manufactured by arranging the carefully selected fibre-resin mixture into the desired shape. The configuration and direction of the fibres are optimized to provide maximum performance before they are cured in an autoclave. The curing process in an autoclave is accomplished by exposing the material to elevated temperatures and pressures. The applied pressure provides the force needed to squeeze excess resin out of the material, to consolidate individual plies, and to compress voids. This technology is hard core, and often used in the aerospace- and racing car industry, where performance of the material is crucial.

04_ DESIGN APPROACH:

When constructing helmets, the usual approach is: “put enough padding in it, and you’ll be safe”. We don’t like the idea of having a lot of volume on our heads while we’re playing (Fig.1), so we figured out another approach: When protection relies on padding alone, all the energy must be absorbed through a single point of impact, rather than distributed over a large surface area. Our helmets have less volume than other helmets, but offer equal or better protection because all impacts are distributed over a maximum surface area. (Fig.2)

05_ OCCIPITAL SHELL:

We’re using a divided shell technology on all our helmets offering maximum fit and comfort and keeping the volume as low as possible. This is unique to all sweet helmets, and a crucial part of the superior fit and performance. Its task is to grip your scull from underneath, preventing the helmet to roll on your head. (Fig.3) However, the most important task is to protect your occipital lobe and surrounding hemisphere

01_ INTRODUCTION:

Inspired by the most functional headwear of all time - the American baseball cap, the Strutter was first introduced back in ‘96 to an uproar in the international kayaking industry, yet still it was unreachable for you all, until launched officially in 2000. This helmet’s features have proven again and again its superior functionality and safety for boaters all over the world; It’s safe, it’s super slim, it’s comfortable and it’s way cool.

New for the 07 season:- Our new production process allows us to introduce the 2007 series in solid colors. We have wanted to make these colors available for a long time, and the special graphics applied to each model is giving the helmets the extra touch that will make you really stand out while wearing one.

Safety is our primary issue, and even though the Strutter might look like a piece of clothing, it will keep you safe shredding your local playspot as well as when cruisin’ the classics.

ROCKER S1 FULLCUT:

ROCKER HALFCUTThe Rocker Halfcut is designed and built on the same frame as the Fullcut version, but it is cut higher over the ears to allow for a greater sense of freedom, and totally unimpeded hearing. The Halfcut version shares the rest of the components with the Fullcut version, and is a no less choice when preparing for the big days out there. For uncompromised fit and comfort we combine a removable and fully washable fluffy Coolmax® inner liner, along with our own thermo formed 4-way adjustable occipital grip system. Specially designed fitpads further customize the fit. The Rocker also packs ventilation slots integrated throughout the interior. On cold days, the detachable earpads can be added for extra warmth and ear protection. The earpads have been totally redesigned for the 2007 season, and are now fully sewn for further strength, and is equipped with “anti pop” plastic inserts to prevent having to reposition the pads after a big hit.

Rocker S1 Visor add onThe Rocker Halfcut now comes with the option of adding the same type of visor you find on the S1 models. The visor is bolt-mounted through two flathead insert nuts on each side, and an adjustable fixation point in front centre.

The Fullface is built on the Rocker Halfcut frame, but has bolted on a carbon fiber jaw protector that will protect your pretty face and make your dentist smile. The jaw protector has thermoformed closed cell EVA foam on the inside for comfort and extra protection.
