Taking care of turbine and generator cost estimation for bidding and tendering of different

power projects.

Associated in GP-30 and F4G programme which aims to reduce the cost of all modules of

turbine and generator equipment’s globally through various technical and commercial ideas.

To achieve above goal myself involved in a team of R&D and engineering aimed to

standardize the modules of power plants and then my responsibility is to prepare the price

lists for same considering final output from India with some critical components to be

supplied by network factories.

Involved in project financial control of ongoing projects.

Supporting Procurement team for the Development and Localisation of various complicated

components for cost reduction of projects under execution.

Additionally putting efforts to produce simple software cost models to do automatic

calculation the cost of complicated modules.

Additionally providing technical and commercial support to CAPEX procurement team for

Alstom factory establishment in Sanand.

Preparing Cost Handbook for 800MW and 660 MW Turbine and Generator modules based on

the experience from the ongoing power projects.

Costing Engineer- Technology & Design

Manages and controls the cost Management for the complete life cycle of manufacture of

Steam Turbine and Generators for Kudgi (3X800MW) and Meja (2X660MW) Project.

Establishes the project work breakdown structure (WBS), manages its correlated costs.

By doing the Cost analysis understanding the Project risk, discussed with our commercial

Manager and acted accordingly as per the solutions.

By providing valuable inputs for Pre-bidding cost estimation for new Project proposals, based

on the specifications provided from Customer.

By doing the Cost Comparative statements for the various power outputs by understanding

the parameters.

Solved the Budget issues efficiently in Oracle developed EBS ,by ensuring that cost centers are

properly utilized.

Prepared and monitored the cash out and cash in flow charts based on the required inputs

Actively involved in finding out the alternate cost reduction ideas for saving the project

within the budget and time.

Understand the drawings from the customer and prepared the cost based on the inputs from

SCM and Production team submitted to Sales team.

Additionally involved in macro developed software models for the standardisation of Turbine

and Generator design modules.

Involved in cost reduction ideas, like Volume Bundling, changing the sourcing strategy, with

SCM and achieved lot of savings in Turbine and Generator material procurement.

Year 2016-17:

√ Done effective cost estimation of turbine and generator components to reach the tendering

and marketing team target to bag all orders under bidding in current competitive

environment in India.

√ As a result we successfully became L1 in a bid for 3X660 MW Ghatampur Power Project,

2X660 MW Obra Project & 2X660MW Jawaharpur Project. These all projects bagged by our

team in a row created hat-trick having value of 700 MUSD.

√ Our Team managed to reach near target of GE Power goal to book order of 1Billion USD.

√ Simplified the process of monitoring and controlling cost for projects under execution.

√ Involved in the team who under implementation of Abradable coatings in turbine to increase

its performance, now working as leader from Sanand to implement it.

Year 2015-16:

√ Successfully completed Kakrapar project with a targeted cost reduction on time.

√ Successfully received Kakrapar nuclear project repairing job order and Ramagundam rotor

retrofit job.

√ Established Casing, rotor and blades cost models to do automatic calculation for cost of

components based on basic inputs.

√ Successfully became L1 in a bid for 2X800 MW Telangana Power Project.

√ Simplified the process of taxes, duties, contingencies and overheads calculation.

√ In cost reduction idea sharing programme (F4G and GP-30) successfully got clearance from

R&D team to further work on implementation of design change of Casted inner casing to

fabrication.

Year 2014-15:

√ Monitored the execution project Kudgi 3X800 MW and Meja 2X 660 MW Projects and

maintained the projects within the budget by implementing cost reduction measures.

√ Successfully completed the first unit of Kudgi 3X800 MW turbine modules within the budget

provided from Project Management team.

√ Successfully became L1 in a bid 2X800 MW Darlipalli Power Project.

√ Simplified the process of taxes, duties, contingencies and overheads calculation.

√ Prepared the software model tool for monitoring the cash out and cash in flow for the ongoing

projects.

Year 2013-14:

√ Understand manufacturing processes, work flow and product knowledge of Steam turbine

and Generators.

various components locally or by simplifying the design and processes of the components.

√ As General Electric (GE) had taken over business of M/s Alstom Power, so as key team

member of technology integration with GE Power our team is further focussing to bring up

best design of Turbine and Generator Island having maximum performance in lower cost for

all new power projects.

√ Associated in development programme for developing the Sanand Factory to cater the

upcoming thermal services and nuclear business. Key focus to load the each

machines/platforms of factory at its maximum achievable output level.
