Opportunities for Rural Accelerators
www.ebn.eu
EU|BIC Trademark
www.ebn.eu
• A unique “certification & benchmarking
system” for innovation-based incubators &
accelerators
• We deploy a professional quality and certification
system for incubators and accelerators, and the
only certification system recognised by the
European Union and other institutions such as
ESA
• We certify business support organisations
assuring quality standards are maintained, and
we offer benchmarking, training & peer-review
services
EU|BIC Certification
www.ebn.eu
• Recognised by the European Commission
• Be part of a peer-group of quality assured
support intermediaries
• Give reassurance to local/regional
stakeholders
• Give confidence to entrepreneurs and SMEs
Benefits of Certification
www.ebn.eu
• European Court of Auditors report: “Has the ERDF
successfully supported the development of
incubators?”
• “… too little attention had been paid to the
effectiveness of incubators’ business support
functions …”
• “… The effectiveness of the benchmarked EU|BIC
certified incubators … was much higher… and that
support offered to businesses beyond the scope of
physical incubation … had contributed to this high
start-up creation rate…”
